Why hide in bushes?

Why should I even try hiding in bushes when the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cat is constantly pulling the monsters to me and making them attack me when trying to attack the cat? Is there a way to stop the cat from being a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron?

I'm 98% certain the cat literally doesn't even have a threat table until the player is in combat, meaning the cat can basically be rubbing against the monster's face and it won't care until it sees you.

Why hide in bushes? Don't. Very very occasionally I'll take advantage of one if I forgot to switch to me status loadout and have no astera jerky for Odogaron, but otherwise, don't bother.

Can you make the Palico less of a moron? Uh....no. You can put ping in your radial menu and when you get a disabling status, you can ping and the Palico may come to your aid if it deems you worthy. Otherwise, give it a gadget you like and hope for the best.

It's just annoying. Been trying to hide in bushes a few times when another big monster comes and ruins my fights, but the cat always seems to like the idea of pulling the monsters right on top of me.

You mean you're already in combat? Then hiding in bushes will do nothing for you, regardless of your cat. If you want extra monsters to not bother you, then start carrying dung pods. Fire one at whatever you don't want around anymore, and they'll leave.

the bushes and spore pods are not a means to stealth. they're a means to distract. use their cover to throw an enemy's aggro off you, or temporarily confuse. its the perfect time to craft ammo, potions, or start drinking or eating something without the monster instantly interrupting you.

if its a spore pod, you can probably get off a few full combos without the monster being able to react cause it can't see you.

but it will find you. don't wait. you're not solid snek.

typically if i have to sharpen or heal if im near a bush, its not like im going to not crouch and not do those things in the bush.

but actively seeking out a bush is not a great plan.
