Does anyone have tips/help they can give for beating this quest? It is possible for me to single out lunastra alone but even then that's still an extremely hard fight and then theres teostra on top of that.

sacrifice some dmg for defense and fire resistance. my Lunastra/Teostra build has 35 fire defense with wide range 4. It makes even the tempered versions a bit trivial since you can take 2-3 of their best shots.

My anti-Teo/Luna armor is literally Kulve β with 3 fire resist jewels, giving me 40, coupled with Kulve R8 ice DB (awakened element). I chose it for regular Lunastra, but it works fine on AT Teostra (I've killed him more than he's killed me with it). Also, just go for Teostra first, by comparison, he just keels over and dies in ~5 minutes, then there will be no more bonding novae. Don't hesitate to run away whenever Lunastra appears, especially if you have Teostra's wrath.
Edit: Recovery speed is excellent against these two if you don't get hit often. If you can take a 5-10 second breather whlie you palico fights, you can heal all the heat aura damage.

i just beat it by joining people doing SOS's so i had a group of 4

for me i get by the luna and teo fights through mantles.
i start with temporal and when that runs out i switch to fire which reduces their damage pretty drastically and lasts through a good portion of the hunt. keeps me alive against tempered luna hits while using vaal armor which has negative fire resistance.
(replace temp with vit mantle until you unlock it. rockstead is bad for luna as it can get you double tapped by her fire bombs)

other than that just take your time. its very forgiving where people even have builds where their palico can actually farm tempered elders for them with little input from the player.

there are all kinds of methods to get damage in on these two while being relatively safe. spamming mega bombs instead of attacking for one. including crafting you can carry around 8 of these and can just run up and plop one down when they are doing their tale attack or some other attack that keeps them still for a while.

luna is pretty weak to mounts so you can get 2 pretty easily off of her.

save the crystal drops when they move to that zone for the one that is causing the most trouble

teo can be flashed out of his supernova. luna on the otherhand punishes flashes by using her nova if she is at full charge (sparks). you can use this to force her to use it from a safe distance.

Personally, I use 3 pieces of Vaal Hazak to keep at bay the constant health burning. Drinking immunizer.. Earplugs and 3x Vitality jewels. 3x fire resistance (won't stop burning, but reduces the damage of fire abilities). Using Long Sword.

Some hints:
► When you see Lunastra flying up charging (similar to Testosterone's), start to flee and perform the superman dive as fast as you can (when you jump like an idiot, hitting the floor). Like that, you can dodge the first explosion. After you got up, do it again instantly for dodge that second explosion.

► You can do the same with Testosterone, however you need to wait a bit with the superman dive. Like 2 seconds after he gets into mid-air.

► Do not forget that you have the vitality mantle and the fire resistance mantle too. The vitality mantle (for example) is able to protect you from both of Lunastra's explosions. However, it depletes the mantle of course... But it just gets a cooldown.

► Try to hit the head from the side of Lunastra. Her most powerful attacks are all frontal and she cannot do critical damage (nor stun you with wind pressure) if you stay next to her.
Tail is tricky, since unlike Testosterone, she has a quick tail swing which is hard to dodge. (and has the same that Testosterone does).

Health potions and max potions are your best friends (and immunizer!)
If you consume much of these, bring the ingredients of health and max potions and craft them during the battle. (Use shortcut)

Ice Elemental Aireal IG. You can stay the air an bounce around murdering their wings in relative safety.

Usually IG is better on the ground and focused on raw, however Teo and Luna are weak enough to Ice that an Elemental Build IG is viable, and Elemental builds IGs do a lot better in the air compared to Raw. You'll want to keep all 3 juices running as long as possible, so Power prolonger helps too. Fortunately it's already found on the Kulve Set. I basically wear 3 pieces of Kulve with Rathalos Legs + 1 other Rathalos or Star Knight when fighting them using this method. Your other skills are going to be Aireal, and the usualy suspects like Weakness Exploit. Maximum Might isn't too good with this build because you stamina doesn't recover while in the air.

Note that Drachen set Form Behomoth is very good for IG, but I'm going to assuming you don't have it.

If youre going to do this you should look up proper Elemental IG info rather than that brief summary above.
