DPS meter that works?
After last update Nexus mods Damage_Meter stopped working. I checked their site and the mod has not been updated this year.

The only mod (HelloWorld.exe) I found that might do the job is this one..
https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterworld/mods/142

I followed the steps but I can't get it to work. I think I'm suppose to copy and paste the code from the .json file but I don't know where to paste it?

Is there another DPS meter that someone could reccomend? or can someone help me figure out how to get the one above set up properly?

I use that one. You have to have the window in bordleress window. Also, it seems to stop working (the overlay isn't visible) if you alt/tab, so you have to restart it and then go directly into the game window (it's only active/visible in areas where you can deal damage).

the json is just the configuration file, so if you want to adjust keybindings, fonts, which things are displayed, etc.

i'm using that one as well, just make sure that the game is in borderlss fullscreen. Just extract the zip anywhere and run the helloworld.exe, you dont need to do anything with the .json file

Wait, you can't just start it? Put the game in Borderless Mode in order for it to work. Haven't had a single problem with it and I run it every single time I open MHW.

For me the DPS meter is really helpful. I'm currently working on solo extremoth and it helps me to see how much damage I'm doing per area and how close I am to killing him. I don't share DPS to others but it makes multiplayer more fun for me too.

Thanks for the replies, I will reinstall it and report back.

Not really. Extremoth is more like a WoW raid, other than it's a stupidly easy one. It's still by far the funnest fight in the game, for me at least.

The damage meter is also a fairly good way for people to see their performance. They could think they are doing a super amazing job on a fight, dealing damage, not dying, but then someone posts a dps chart and they only did 10% of the damage...they got ♥♥♥♥ to work on.

I appreciate you folks who don't share. It always irks me a little inside when dps metered people share without being asked to. Even my irl buddy who plays with me and has the meter only tells me and my other friend when we ask because he knows it's a polite thing to do.

See, I disagree. I think what pisses people off is the realization that they aren't doing their job very well (assuming their role is dps). How would they know they suck if nobody showed them? See, it feeds into the competitive side of things and competition is what drives people to get better (or give up).

no my issue is that it's uncalled for. Some hunts I tryhard, some hunts I troll around. And three out of the four times I've seen it posted, it was used as a way to shame someone. Shaming someone you don't even know isn't an amazing way to motivate that person to do better. It's a ♥♥♥♥ move to make yourself feel better for "working on gitting guud". Not that you shouldn't feel good for playing well, but don't you dare ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ feel good by pushing others down. That ♥♥♥♥♥♥ irks me.

sharing dps meter is like sharing advice. If other other person don't want it, don't give it.

It's entirely called for, especially on behemoth. If you have 2 players in the dps role, 1 tank, and 1 healer and you look at the damage meter and one of your "dps" has similar damage as the tank or healer...they're deadweight. They need to know that and so do you. What they do with that information is up to them, maybe they use it to make themselves feel like they are being picked on, maybe they'll be less of a ♥♥♥♥♥ and figure out how to improve themselves. Depends on their attitude and reason for playing, I suppose...

I got it to work, thanks guys!

It must have been working the whole time I just didn't realize the overlay doesn't show if your not in quest where you deal damage.
