How to get Hunter king coin?

Been playing Barroth HR 13 for like 5 times not getting one

Coins come from the arena which can be accessed from the gathering hub.
It sounds like you're just fighting a normal hunt.

arena quest is not easy, if u did 5 arena barroth you would have blood coming from your eyes lol

each arena hunt gives you a specific coin. i dont remember which one is king but i guess it would be one of the harder ones like with diablos.

they are balanced for multiplayer which is why they are so annoying vs a normal hunt

Hunter king is 04-07.
Ace is 08-09 (Diablos)

But otherwise, yes, Arena's are balanced for two people. Try to find an arena lobby. Search lobby filter to arena quests and pick the one with the most people. There'll be people doing various arena hunts and will likely join in with you if you post one.

Another issue you'll run into, is that if your time is B or Lower, youre not guaranteed that special coin; So, always aim for A Rank, and youre guaranteed the coin

Not true.

I can reliably get A Rank on the Twin Diablos. Sometimes I would get no coin. Other times I would get two. There is no guarantee.

Higher rank simply gives you more rewards. More chances at the dice roll.

king and ace are sadly fully random in the normal quests.

Best arena to do for Hunter King is the Dodogama one. Pick the Longsword. Even if you aren't good at longsword, it's still an easy fight for at least B rank solo. I personally can't into foresight slash AT ALL

I have A rank on all the arena quests. Just find a half decent partner, use all the tools you have and hit their snoots hard.

Pretty much this. Be bold. You have 9 faints available. You can be more agressive than usual.
The twin Diablos fight is probably the easiest to get A rank on, since they hurt each other a lot.
