If you want a food buff for that, try Felyne Moxie. I've never actually fainted while I had it active, but it says you'll live through an attack that would otherwise have killed you. Sounds useful to me.
I've seen it work a lot of times. I know if you faint, it will not count towards the faint counts. I've seen it happen a lot of time when it saved quite a few runs where there's only 3 faint limit and they fainted 3 times but the felyne insurance activated so that 1st faint didn't count. But I've only seen this on normal assigned, optional, and event quests. I haven't actually seen it on investigations where there's only a 1-2 faint limit.
However, I'm not sure if the food effect is party wide or it will only affect the person who has it. And by that, I mean if I have the felyne insurance food skill and someone dies and they didn't have the felyne insurance skill themselves, will it count for them or it only counts for when I faint? That I'm not sure about. I haven't figured this out since I mostly solo and just join others if I felt like doing something new.
To have a chance to activate such skill you'll have to put 2/4/6 ingredients from this section(any type works probably).

There are also daily skills but you probably can't affect those
