And no, You cant without a modded console which barrs you from online play, sorry ;)
Then have crossplay be optional, problem solved.
Or literally write a handful of lines of code to check the game on startup, again not hard and problem solved.
And you can get modded consoles online if you really want to.
Both PSN and XBL will ban your console permarently.
if it's detected, and again it's not hard to prevent people from using crossplay with modded games (at least if that's required)
Tell me, is it hard to remove your head from how far you have it up your ass?
Not that it would be that big of a deal breaker. Monster Hunter World is a co-op game only, not a competitive online game. If someone is supposedly cheating and instantly finishing your hunt for you, (not that I've had that happen) it's not as game breaking as a competitive game when it's used against you. You'd get free mats and a completion of a quest one time and then you'd most likely leave. If this were Fortnite, fighting games, PUBG, or hell even Halo, I'd understand why you'd want the PC audience out of your lobbies.
I'd link the long list of sites that have undetected hacks for PS4 and Xbox, but I'm pretty sure that's against steam TOS/forum rules and I'm not willing to risk it.
Suffice to say, it's not my statement that isn't true.
They use crazy methods of detection that aren't easy to avoid. You can use stealth servers and ♥♥♥♥, but in the end those only extend the time you have before you eventually get caught.
Pretty much this. Crossplay only doesn't exist because those sitting at the top of the companies don't want it because they are too dumb to value their own costumers like they should, people who most likely never played a single video game in their lives.
Street Fighter V has crossplay and it's optional and it's also from Capcom, there's literally no real excuse.
A significant amount of games already develop for both console and PC, and have crossplay. The PC version is also getting content faster IIRC (catching up to console).
It may introduce a small lag in content as they port to PC, but I honestly don't see that taking much longer than what they already do in designing for a console and porting it over to the other one.
I'm not expecting crossplay soon, it is something to look at when PC has fully caught up, and even then it'd take work to initially implement.
