Tempered Tracks

Can you go into a tempered monster hunt and farm THEIR tracks to gain tempered investigations? I've been following a pukei tempered for a while, but the tracks flash green and purple once i grab them. I haven't gone back to town yet.

Just remember the tempered investigations you get are tied to the tracks farmed.

Threat 1 tier monsters will only give low tier hunts (Pukei, Tobi, Anja, Rathian, Barroth, Kulu, Jyura)
Threat 2 tier monsters will give the mid tier hunts (Pink Rathian, Rathalos, etc.)
Threat 3 tier monsters (Elder Dragons) will of course give those.

Just remember - If you get to HR49 and you get the tempered kirin quest, FARM ITS TRACKS for at least one full session, return from quest, THEN attempt to kill it.

I farmed it for tracks 3 times, now I have a spare tempered kirin investigation in case I ever need more T3 tempered investigations.

I use Nergigante for tempered threat 3, he leaves a lot of spikes and footprints, I get around 25 investigations from him per 50 minute quest.

For threat level 2, I follow a black diablos, just stay under him and pick up what he drops constantly, roughly around 20 investigations per 50 minutes.

I don't even know why threat level 1 exists.

Remember, once the monster you're gathering tracks from engages you, you won't be able to get anymore investigations from their tracks.

Learned about the loss of tracks the fun way. Still not sure why pukei suddenly turned hostile, either. And for my tier 2 I used pink rathain due to her being the first one I unlocked. Got 5 investigations in 20 minutes in the wastes.

Red Monk is basically doing things the most effecient. Only thing to be added here is another one like, if you can get a multi-tempered hunt for Rathalos, Azure Rathalos, and then X in Ancient Forest, kill Azure last and don't engage immediately cause the big blue boi leaves traces all over the place ontop of triple monster hunts having monster health reduced to the point it's ridiculous.

Oh one other thing, you can still get investigations from the tracks, you'd just have to kill time farcastering/hiding til said monster completely forgot about you and proceeded to frollock about the world again naturally.

Tempered Nerg and Tempered Teostra are my go to track farms for TED, gotta farm up them undead dragon 5 rewards rip

I'm not sure. One guide I saw said 60, another said 50. I assume I need to get to 49 and do the quest that pops up to get to 50.
Both guides said you had to actually GET to the level before getting a tempered investigation. And after gathering 50 or so tier 2's and not getting one when I was stuck at 29, I would assume they're right. Or I just had really bad rng.
Found another guide that said 13, 30, and 50. So I guess I'll find out at 50.

More monsters in a single hunt cause them to have less health? If this is true, then thank heavens. One of my tier 2's wanted me to go after rathalos, pink rathian, AND anjanath. In the same map. On the other hand, it also has 6 purple reward boxes, so that's nice.

at HR 13 you have permission to join/host tempered threat 1
HR 30 ,tempered threat 2
HR 50 , tempered threat 3.
but on the HR 49 temp kirin you can start gather the investigation for threat 3, but you cant accept the quests.

so if your tempered quest need HR 13 is threat level 1
30 , level 2
50, level 3

I'm 45, right now. When I thought it required 60, I said 15 more levels. But I guess 5 and a quest? At least I know that I don't have to do the quest instantly. When I did the two tempered bazel quest and unlocked the 29 lock, I jumped to 41 due to all the farming I had done, lol. I began leveling so slow because I needed a day off after farming nerg so many times. He has to be the hardest bastard in the game, since all the elders are far easier than he is. I don't even want to think about a tier 3 tempered version.

Yes but it will consume one use of that investigation. It's also not a guarantee that the investigations you will get will be tempered. Generally you get tempered inestigations by fighting tempered stuff and breaking parts since those count as collecting tracks.

Yeah, the more monsters a mission specifically has you go out and kill (example the hr29 double bazelgeuse) they're weaker(individual healthpool wise). Oh and the lower the time limit the quest for tempereds and regular investigations, looking at you 15min timer, that also reduces the healthpool aswell. So if you have a double monster hunt for 30 it should be super cakey. But a triple hunter for full timer is still gonna be plenty easy. Both variants of Rathalos are great for track farming, PINK RATHIAN is tier 2 while base Green Rathian is a measly tier 1 so do keep that in mind, oh so is anjanath. So unless you need tier 1 investigations don't specifically farm his traces lmao.

A little misleading, breaking parts can reward T2 tempered. Only tracks give you T3. If you miss out on Tempered Krilin or run out of T3 investigation, their tracks have pre-set spawn spots on elders reach that you can watch a video to farm.

More times than not, I seem to get basic un-tempered investigations from tempered monster breaks. This doesn't apply to tempered elders, but everything else seems to be some sort of RNG. Or I'm just not paying attention.

Sacrifice one 1 of the 4 to gain 5+ sets of 4 more? Yeah. That's a total let down for 20 minutes of work. And every investigation i gained from following the tracks of the tempered monsters only gave me tempered missions. If you got non-tempered, you must have clicked a few non-tempered tracks. I did that a few times with anja tracks when I was chasing the tier 1 pukei around.
I made certain not to click any non-tempered tracks for my tier 2's, and only got tier 2 tempered missions.
