Character Naming Question

Unsure of how this works in this game...can multiple folks use same name or is it a dash to secure a prefered name at launch kinda thing?

You can have multiple people with same name. On PS4 I have played with at least 14 different Kevins. They use your PSN (or steam for PC case) to make the accounts unique.

Good thing they did that because I don't wanna mess up my character name adding numbers next to it.

I just use my actual name (Addam) and it almost always works out. Thanks for the name, mum.

This is what I never understand, why add number when you can be slightly creative with your username? most of these people just cant seem to have the capability to think beyond of adding their birth year after their super common and mundane names...

I wouldn't mind even if you needed a unique name.
Load up an online name generator, check German, Swiss, French, then mash generate until something looks good. Always get something unique and never spend 20 minutes thinking up a unique name again.

20 minutes is an understatement for my case XD Good thing MHW allows this!

On PS4 you could name your character anything you wanted but the game basically used your unique PS4 account name for matchmaking. This will simply use your Steam ID instead, but still allow you to "name" your character.
