Even quad core i7's run hard on MHW. Has to do with how Capcom runs simulations all over the map, even if you're not there to see them. Turf wars, and such.
But, I'm certain after launch youtube will be awash with benchmarking videos on various hardware.
The i3 6100 is a dual core, but is has hyperthreading. So the game will think it's actually a quad core. Without having seen how standard i3's run the game it's impossible to say how well it will run. But paired with a decent GPU it may not have any trouble at all, since it has a pretty decent single threaded performance score.
The i3 they used was the 8100K, which is a true quadcore with no hyperthreading.
Thank you!
Well we have to wait and see..
I have a GTX 970 btw which is absolutely fine i think.
Yeah, I think at 1080p you'll be just fine. We've already seen how a myriad of graphics cards performs in the game, including the modest 750 ti. Don't buy too heavily in to the system requirements rumors that the game will require a 1080 ti to hit 60 fps.
One thing I do know is dual cores will not be enough for 60fps. Following video is performance of
newer quad core i5 running at 3.3Ghz. It barely can keep 60fps when the GPU is not the bottleneck.

It should be possible using a Modern i3 but don't expect anything great or good.
This is the lowest benchmark video you can find right now: it's a guy on a GTX 750 TI + i3 8100 setup (note that the 8100 is a true quad core, not a dual core with HT.)
Can't thank you enough for this because now I am beyond confident I can run it on my 1050Ti
Got a 1050 ti too we re safe about it i think im more scared about my cpu i5 4590.it seems the game use cpu very much .but to bee honest if the game run in medium that s enough for me
