I've been informed that it should be 12 A.M. U.S. Paciffic Time. So that means 3 A.M. if you live on the East Coast.

so in like 3 hours?

just gonna say this again in case anyone cares. If you have the ability to download it fast, say 2-3 hours, don't preload.

If it takes you a day or so to download, preload it.

For example when people preloaded FF15, they were upset that it was going to take like 8 hours to decrypt the preload (some people decrypted very fast, say 40 mins, but not everyone).

Worth thinking about.

it's not like that, it just sweetheart just reminds you
sometimes the Unpacking process of preload is took longer than the times for you download normaly (not in preload state, but unpacked state) :bite:

that's why he said it's worth considering

The decrypting time depends on your harddrive speed i think.

That's not the only factor. If you have a good processor it shouldn't take you more then a few minutes to decrypt the files and play.

True, but it depends on the filesize and whether you have a HDD/SSD. Usually though that's faster for people with slow internet anyway, but FFXV being 85gb definitely made a lot of people wait a little longer just to decrypt the files.

Correct. Some people claimed several hours. Some said it was faster to delete the preload and redownload the entire thing again.

I think some people compared system specs to try and find out who was impacted the most. I don't know what the end result was, I just know I was eating popcorn and laughing when it happened. Lots and lots of discussion was had in those hours, some people were very upset.

But as others have said, it wasn't an issue for everyone.

I haven't done a preload either. So not sure tbh.

I'm new to this preloading thing as I usually purchase games that have already been released or discs to load the sftware right onto the computer. I'm just a bit confused here.

From what I have read, restarting steam after the game is officially out tends to start the decrypt process.

You need 2x the drive space apparently. Which isn't a big deal since MHW isn't that big compared to some other games.

Also since MHW is so small compared to FF15, I don't really think the decrypt will be that bad ^_^
