That is hilarious

You need to keep in mind that the character you create is pretty much just for cutscenes and your player card. This wont change in the PC version. If mods make it into the game no doubt someone will put in a mod to have the character creator model for in game

As long as my hunter has green hair and pigtails I'll be fine. It's been my thing since Monster Hunter Tri to have Green Hair and pigtails. I'm just hoping I have more pigtail options to choose from..not that it will matter since I plan on making Azure Rathalos since it has some pretty decent skills for me as a Gunner.

I think it's the same as the model created. It just the lightning in game sometimes doesn't handle properly compare to character creation

Japanese twitter had a riot with this when the game released there. There used to be a collection of comparison photos, I'll see if I can find it...

it's the "dark souls 3 / bloodborne" effect

one thing that I think changes the look the most, is the fact you can't see the characters neck with the armor. This kinda makes them look stubby and just all shoulders.

it also seems to squash the face a little vertically

Wouldn't be the first game where the graphics systems in the character creator and the game aren't the same and thus look a little different.

Lighting can really change how something looks for instance.

I think I'm greatly going to enjoy the results either way! Hahaha. I love the one with black hair red lipstick.

My character looked fine. I know some didn't but I was spared anything crazy.

PC gets lod settings. That might help too.

I don't get why they would do this. Surely if performance was an issue a more powerful pc can solve it.
Though even on ps4 i actually doubt that one higher res texture on the mc would make or break the framerate.

Game couldn't run at 1080p. Commonly hit 25fps and sometimes lower. Had 4players online.

Yup had to cut back
