Trouble Downloading?
I've been trying to download Monster Hunter and I think I'm on my fourth or fifth time trying now. I have enough disc space, that's no issue, but every time the game gets to 80-90% download (which takes a good couple of hours or more) it pauses. I click resume, it immediately pauses again. If I click resume enough times the entire download restarts, but the files and shortcut to the game are still there, almost like it thinks it finished downloading but didn't actually. Then when I try to use the shortcut it brings me to the download screen and says I have no disc space and cannot download the game. I've tried restarting my computer, clearing the download cache, changing my download region, and repairing the steam files. Nothing seems to be working. This has been getting extremely frustrating as I just wanna play this banger of a game with my buds but I can't even get it downloaded. Pls send help, could it be maybe my wifi? It's the same as before and I've downloaded beefier games than this so I just dunno

We'll send a technician out as soon as possible. Is next Tuesday good for you? If not, how does March look for you? ;)

I have enough space when I download the game, then while it downloads it pauses and restarts and tells me I have NO space left at all. Even if the game downloaded correctly I would still have space remaining. So yes, you would be correct in saying something isn't right here.

You need basically double the space free to unpack it. Steam needs the space for both the download and the install simultaneously, then it deletes the download once it's installed. Delete some more stuff.

You should ideally always have at least 10% free on HDDs (for defrag to work) and 15-25% free on SSDs (for write cache and to preserve cell endurance) anyway. You can't just pack the drives full. I mean, you can, but you shouldn't.

That makes sense, thankies. I was finally able to download it successfully which is nice. I think I just need a better computer lol
