Is blast attack Decoration worth it ?
I Have 4-4-2-2 Decoration Slots free and using Explosion Lunastra Dual Swords (120 Blast) 20% Affinty.

I could place into those lvl 4 slots Blast Attack so I reach max lvl with it. and still have 2-2 Slot free.
Or I could fill it with Affinty.
What do you think makes more sence ?

Dunno about now but I remember MHW basic, Blast element is literally the worst type of element due to mechanics. You have to keep hitting an enemy to fill up an invisible gauge to burst damage a monster and compared to element-heavy weapons like dual swords and bows, it's far better using other elemental attacks as it does more overall damage.

I’d try to get to 100% crit and buff the critical attacks with critical boost
Nonexistinghero Jan 14, 2020 @ 10:05am
That's false. Blast is one of the top 3 status elements in this game. The others are poison and paralysis. Poison does the most damage for longer fights. Blast for shorter fights. And paralysis allows you to do more easy damage thanks to the monsters just becoming hitting bags every now and then. You can't go wrong with either of them.

That being said, I don't think those jewels are very good. It would only be good if you were to have some slots leftover, but I'd say that you'd generally be able to slot in more useful things instead.

Blast was the worst element to use when IB was not released but now the blast damage is buffed from 120 to 300 so it is more useful.

"but now the blast damage is buffed from 120 to 300"

WOW! Good to know! I use a blast KT LS I got long ago, I wonder if I still have the buff even though I am yet to buy IB...

Not sure about HR monsters but it does 300 damage on MR monsters.

Well thats not possible for me because I rather want to stay alive than deal most dmg possible.
All my slots are filled with things essential for my type of Build and those 4-4-2-2 are leftover.
I think I cant go for Critical Boost so does increasing only crit then makes sence compared to Blast ?
Also no Weapon Augmentations at all on the Weapon.

I have tons of Decoration Slots filled with a lot things which help me to not die and those 2 options are the 2 last ones left which make sence for me.
So what you think Blast or Crit ?
You also gotta keep in mind Lunastra swords only have 120 blast while Bazelegeuse swords have like 240.
Also no Weapon Augmentations at all on the Weapon.

I've not properly tested Blast weapons in a long time but if the damage has been increased to 300, then it might be worthwhile. Remember it still works like status ailments where it requires a build up and each even will require more build up than the last one.

I tried it on a Bow shooting a Dragon Piercer towards a biggun and out of 20 coatings, it activated 3 times so that's 900 damage... Dunno how much 'damage' the 20 Blast Coatings provide but I was using a Glavenus bow.

Both Blast and Critical kind of falls under the same category of 'chance'. If you do not have any Critical Boost skills, not worthwhile pumping up crit too much.

yeah i put blast 4 on my current bow set and use a brachy bow. within the first minute of a encounter i've proc'd 5 blasts on top of whatever damage my bow did. then with blast+ coating i can make it happen even faster later on or trigger it on a specific body part.

Blast is a lot of fun and worth maxing for. but its not a 100% fool proof build, some monsters are resistant to blast. those that are 2 star and higher though, its a killer.
Schiggy Jan 14, 2020 @ 11:32am
Ok then I will go with Blast Lvl 4 2x.
I have then 2-2 Slots over and Augmentations for that weapon.
Now I need to know what to put into those slots :D
If you have a Tipp tell me.
But I got the most normal things like Stun Resistance / Health already

well its dual blades so, maybe something stamina related like marathon runner or stamina surge if you can fit it. either make demon mode last longer or shorter gaps between demon mode.

beyond that evade window could be handy or evade distance. though distance is more dependant on what your fighting. sometimes you dont want to move around so much but sometimes you do.

I have all stamina Skills on Max and Evade window on max already :D
Evade Distance is something I dont like because when you spam Evade and have a shorter distance you can get Invicibility frames faster again + sometimes it like you said too much for monsters.

Also I already have 30% less cooldown on Tools like Evade Mantle.

When I think about it I could add Divine Blessing which makes me a bit sad because its 2 lvl 2 Slot but a Lvl 1 Decoration.
But Divine Blessing 3 is not bad.

make 2 builds then, not every monster is weak/has a weakness of 2 or 3 to blast dmg
