Glavenus Mantle farm

I rarely ever post on steam subforums and I didn't do any online mode since MH4U since I'm looking for people who don't want to stress through everything and just play to have fun and enjoy the game rather than wanting perfection and speedrun everything. I'm a veteran from the older games and I have played through the entire series so I'm not new, just to let you know. Even though I've been not as active in World compared to the other games as I'd have hoped I don't have any trouble at all. But that's not the point. I've been farming Glavenus for over 2 days straight for the mantle to finish the helmet and I'm doing everything to increase the chance but now it's kinda getting on my nerves and I'm hoping to perhaps find some people to help speed up the process maybe. Unfortunately having 15/20 fps don't make it any better...
So if anyone feels down for it just drop by. Thanks in advance.

You can only get it from the melder when you're 2 quest tiers above the monster you want items melded from. Believe me, I considered this option as well but the items won't show up for me yet.

got it on my first kill doing story. Its RNG and theres nothing you can do about it. I found not caring so much actually works when it comes to rng. Probably not what you want to hear but it is what it is

Go for a tail cut - I got mine from carving an acid glavenus tail so you can get it from him too - and gold slot investigation rewards. I'd jump in your session except I'm about to fall asleep lol - good luck man.

As I said before, I know about RNG. I'm not stupid! I've played every other game before! Stop making assumptions! Good for you that you got in on the first try!

As I said before, I do of course go for the tail, but obviously you can't read. I just said that it takes so long considering the clunky PC controls and the immense fps stutter. I don't have Acidic Glavenus yet so I can't try that one.

I didn't say I couldn't do it alone. It just gets annoying after 50+ times and to speed up the whole process more people can be helpful. And in case you can't read: I'm a veteran who played all the previous titles before so there's no need to tell me what to do! But as I said before as well I'm too old to stress myself with kids on the Steam forums. If you actually want to help you're free to do so instead of leaving unqualified comments. I was just asking nicely until some people had to mess it up by telling me about things I already know. I didn't ask for for strategies or somesuch. I asked for a way to speed things up if I have to do it 50 more times. God, now I know the other reason why I abandoned online play completely.

Instead of mindlessly farming useless stuff for days and wasting time. You could just play further and unlock it for the Melder.

Think soloing is the best way to farm mantles right now ! Believe me u don’t want ur precious investigations wasted by ppl who donno how to fight the monster . Game is out like just 5 days so ppl are still learning . So doing in MP will not speed up ur farming but adding unnecessary annoyance .

I farmed 5 mantles in a row by following method . Well although it’s all about luck , u can try following methods like me .

- Always do investigations with at least 1 gold . Ok u can farm these investigations by just collecting tracks in optional and expeditions .
- Equip Palico with Plunterblade ! And always adjust ur completion time to 10-12 min even if u can kill faster than that . Ur Palico usually steal 4 items in 10 min .
- Break everything , cut tail and capture
- When Monster is limping , go back to camp and change to capture set . What’s capture set ? It’s the set made up of 3 High Rank Kirin pieces and 2 Legiana Pieces . Change to this set and capture .
- Pet Poogie before u go

In your case farm Acidic Glavernus! Since he is in Rotten Vale . So u can hire 1 thief cat . So combine with ur Plunterblade cat and the one u hired .. their steal amount become ridiculous. And ya they can steal mantles !

That set tip is a great idea i've never thought about. When doing those guiding land things (went there yesterday for the first time), would i need to equip it before capturing or before receiving the rewards?

And even if you don't farm, always pet the Poogie!
