Disconnected from session
Hello there, I have been playing monster hunter world for a while now and since the update to Iceborne, I've been noticing some pretty serious problems with keeping connected to my friends. Most of the time, I can be playing with a friend and all of a sudden, he's forced to leave my game because it kicked him out of my session. This friend of mine lives in the US while I live in the UK so normally I'd expect at least SOME lag given cross country play but... these disconnects are so bad that he gets kicked before he even gets to hunt, like just trying to enter a mission kicks him from the session. Every time, he's described a few seconds pause and then suddenly he's gone. It has also happened to me when I've played with others, the random disconnect seemingly for no reason (though apart from the last one, no freeze occurred. The last one bemusingly had a rathian stuck flying in place at a tree for a full 20 seconds while I could still move and shoot before the disconnect).

My question is this... why is the game suddenly so unstable for multiplayer? I never had the problem occur for me personally before Iceborne (though it did for the friend rarely) but now it's far too common for me to consider this as normal from the game.

Me too and I came here for this. Got crazy good stable connection and monitoring a ping on google on secondary monitor. Started tonight, everytime I join a hunt I get dc/d after loading. Everything else is up and there is no break in connection but the session just drops.

I am having the same problems too after the new iceborne update. I thought that it would be due to one of the following reasons:

- The game performance is so bad due to the new anti-cheat system, that it kicks you out.
- Too many players connected to the server due to being a new release...

My bet is on the first one and it will probably be fixed once they fix these performance issues.

The problem is not new and people where having it since the release of the game, however it is not server sided.
We can only speculate why but edjucated guess is that it is mods or packet loss by the isp of the user beeing disconnected.

Did join a session for 14+ hours yesterday, no problems at all with people from all over the world and multiplayer worked like a charm.

just dont alt tab out or shift tab if you are in an online session, a google search shows this has been a problem since launch

The thing is that none of us ARE alt tabbing or using mods and I'm very certainly with a stable ISP. The error code that comes up every single time is error code 50086-MW1. The problem actually is getting worse, not better, so I hope Capcom actually decides to do something about it.

Haven't seen a single disconnection since the release myself. But it's nothing new that this issue happens for some of the people. It's a p2p connection, and MHW has crappy netcode, so even a small packet loss or instability will cause you to drop out. Probably something like that is happening to you.

I figured that might be the case, though it's only really been highlighted since Iceborne. I can only hope it can be fixed some point soon, it's making the game not fun at all to be fighting a decent battle against a monster with a friend (me as heavy bowgun, him as greatsword) and then the disconnect happens and I'm forced to effectively abandon mission because the monster didn't scale back down to single player difficulty and shreds my HP like tissue paper. >_>#

More people are playing the game now, so the issue seems to be more severe. On the launch day of the original game the disconnections were so severe you literally couldn't play with anybody for longer than 5 minutes, and usually it was about 30 seconds before you got booted. So yeah, give it some time and it will normalize again.
