Suddenly Black Screening
Monster Hunter has always loaded up for me just fine, but suddenly today it just won't get away from the black screen. I've tried the "verify integrity of game files" method as well as changing full screen to borderless but both are not working. It's very sudden and I'm not sure what to do or how to fix it. It was working just fine for me two days ago until when I tried to play just now and it won't progress from black screen.

It has been like that since the Iceborne release. Nothing has worked for me. This game is broken.

I don't understand how some people are able to play, but I can't even launch the game.

sounds like someone, needs to do a software check...

Drivers

Windows (use SFC)

Verify game files

anything else i didnt think of related to gaming like hardware compatibility though thats not much of an issues these days. but some people still run ancient hardware thinking it can keep up.

I have the same issue, and it causes my brand new PC to have weird issues (plugging in any peripherals that weren't previously plugged in don't even register, and unplugging a working one and plugging it back in causes it to not work; shutting down and restarting it get funky) only fix I could find is to force the PC to shut down by holding the power button, and booting it back up that way.

Still, super frustrating, no rhyme or reason what causes it :/

Oh god... I read that some people have contacted capcom support. We'll see what happens.

Same as a lot of people and OP here. Black screen after the Iceborne release/patch. My hardware is above the minimum:

CPU: i5 4670K @ 4GHz
RAM: 24GB DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: Radeon RX 480 8GB GDDR5
Windows 10

I tried reinstalling this game numerous times on different harddrives/SSD's, Verifying game files, rebooting my PC, updating Direct X, Updating my video drivers, etc. Nothing has worked.

I still have the sneaking Suspicion that those who have yet to purchase Iceborne are the ones who are getting this black screen bug.

I have tried shutting down certain software, uninstalled certain software I had installed since I purchased MHW back in December (mainly the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack that I was trying to use to wirelessly connect my PS4 controller to play without having to use a wobbly micro USB cable [Was able to finally get this device from Mayflash that can connect PS4/Xb1/Switch Pro controllers to PS4/XB1/Switch/PC/Neogeo etc for that])

I had even tried putting MHW as an exclusion in the Windows Defender definitions and still no change.

See, I even have this issue as someone who has Iceborne, and has been actively playing Iceborne. I think it might just be related to the patch that introduced it and other mechanics in general.

For some reason all Capcom games do this to me. Once I reboot they load up fine. After awhile though it will do the black screen thing. If I wait about 2 minutes game will eventually load. It's faster to just reboot though.

Thats not true i went into the graphic option files and typed fullscreen instead of borderless and the game worked at this point i DIDNT have iceborne yet (note i also tried windowed but windowed caused the blackscreen bug aswell) now the problem i have is that my anti-virus is dumb and asks me to do a backup of files (files that are saved to the cloud and i also already have a backup of my intire system on an external drive) this takes me out of fullscreen and crashes the game
