Someone always takes these oportunities to show of. Oh well....

To OC: I have a rtx 2060 (the 6GB standard model) and have added HD textures. Even when the game says it's gonna eat up to 7GB VRAM, afterburner says it peaks at 5.2GB. 5.2 is close to the card's limit, but still bellow the 7GB the game says it'll use.

Also, the game will take longer to load and iceborne seens to have a bug that makes the game takes up to half a minute to load.

Performance wise, I think it even runs faster than default highest.
I just went and enabled it and did a brachy quest. All default settings, just enabled high res texture pack. Game said estimated ram usage was above the 6gb capacity, but it ran just fine. Might have a harder time in the Ancient Forest, but I haven't checked there. Loading times are a few seconds longer. Other than that, no noticeable performance issues. Hope this helps!

Edit: My graphics card is GTX 1660 GDDR5 6GB. My monitor is 1080p 60 hz.

at 4k i've notice the vram blowing up to over 11gigs time to time. (mostly in the cut scene)
but baseline is normall over 8gigs

at least in dx12

you can see the ram used on the top left on the screen. (i have 24gigs vram.. so you can see what the game wants to do if it has the headroom)

I've got an rtx 2060 (6 gig) too and I lose some frames playing the HD texture pack. The Vram says it's a bit above what my card can handle, at about 6.20-ish with the settings I had. I've had to disable the the texture pack to get smooth performance. I could play with how it was, but it crashed my game once as I caught the monster, and every time I finish a quest it hits a hard lag spike. Not willing to risk that again.

But your feedback is useless. Op asked for feedback from guys who have 6 GB vram.

Ofc you are fine. With that.

I could run hi res textures before the update with a gtx 980 ti 6gb with no issues. But now after the update it's hard to say, i'm not using it at the moment and i'm still getting worse performance :D

Thanks for all who have replied (6gb ppl only tho lol).

I have tested it myself in a few hunts with gtx 1660ti 6gb running 1440p @50fps. There is some frame drops in seliana and astera (in comparison to no hd texture dlc) maybe due to vram reaching close to 6gb there, but in hunts, the vram used is only less than 5 gb so there is no issue of frame drops there.

With how the texture dlc improve big monster skin and your armor, i think it is a must have. Tho even with hd texture dlc, some monsters like rathian are still noticeably have worse texture than great jagras at "Full" texture.

Probably the fact he asked about 6GB cards with Hi Res not your 8GB one lol.

I'm using a 980 Ti. It is... laggy occasionally. I'm not sure if this is the reason though.

Also, cutscenes were lagging and each time it lagged the sound and video would become more and more desynchronised.

Just want to share my experience here about the high res pack.

I've got 8Gb of VRam and I can attest that when I first load the game I got up to 60-70% of VRam usage, the textures gets indeed, much better. The game in the village doesn't drop frames and performances overall are just fine.

HOWEVER,

I did notice that upon LOADING ANY OTHER NEW ZONE, the game simply reverts back to default textures and the VRam usage goes back to 20% or less, visuals changes accordingly.

Right now this pack doesn't work properly AT ALL.

dude, i use a gtx 970 with 4gb and it runs at 50 fps or so with it enabled, it just takes more time to load, its also not worth it in my opinion
