Would I benefit turning DirectX 12 on?
I have near 200 hours in the game using DirectX 11 but wondering with my current setup would it be beneficial to turn on DirectX 12. I currently average between 80-100 frames per second with maxed out settings and volumetric rendering set to off.

Windows 10 v. 1909
GTX 1080 Ti
Ryzen 7 3700x
16gb RAM
Played on a 1440p / 144ghz monitor

I noticed a fps boost with dx12. About 5-10 frames I believe :winter2019happyyul:

With dx11 I get anywhere from 20 to 30 fps in astera post update. 40-60 in dx12 after turning it on. dx12 performs about the same as dx11 before they broke the game.

DX12 was designed to eliminate the abstraction layer overhead associated with the OOP characteristics of DX11. It's closer to "bare metal" communication so yes in theory it takes less work to make Dx12 calls than DX11 calls therefore improves system utilisation.

Controller delay but I've got that on DX11 as well so I just play with DX12.

personaly had no issues
in fact i'm among the few whose the game actualy runs better than before with iceborne and DX12

Game runs better with DX12 on for me as well. Initially had some performance issues but DX 12 has improved or at least brought performance back to pre-Iceborne.

Despite all the performance issues with this game, I can attest that DX12 is the way to go for better performance. Before Iceborne, I could barely manage 900p at a constant 60 fps. Now with DX12 I can do 1080p with higher settings.

DX12 gives me micro stutterings(really micro hehehe), and i got little better performance (like 2fps max).... i'll stick with dx11 for now.

idk why mine always crash when using dx12 can somebody help?
DaBa Jan 13, 2020 @ 4:32am
Just check it yourself. It's night impossible to tell if a particular setup will benefit or not, testing it is very easy as well. I gained about 3 frames with my setup in Astera, so I left it on.
