Ryzen CPU Temperature Problem (Overheat, not overusage)
Everything was all right while I played the past MHW without Iceborne for over 200 hrs. But my computer started to be suddenly power-off within 10 mins after playing Iceborne for many times. The image was set at high,1080p and fps was about 60. DirectX12 has been chosen.
Firstly I thought it was led by too high demand which my power can not supply. But the monitoring of MSI afterburner showed that both CPU(60w) and GPU(100w) power are not very high. And my power is Coolermaster GX450(450w,80plus bronze),that should be enough for supplying.
Then I found another abnormal number in my CPU temperature before power off. It was up to 99℃ in only 10 mins.At the same time, the utilization of CPU was 50 to 60%,but the game only occpied 30 to 40%,and the rest was consumed by a course named Antimalware Service Executable(Windows defender?).That is pretty weird. Are the high temperature and sudden power off caused by this DLC and windows defender?Have you ever met similar situation? How do you solve it?

P.S. My computer hardware
CPU: AMD Ryzen5 2600
RAM: KLEVV 16GB ddr4 2400MHz
GPU: AMD RX580 8GB
SSD: Intel 760p 256GB
Power: Coolermaster GX450(450w,80plus bronze)
OS: Win 10, both OS and graphics driver are newest

P.S.2
Laterly I ran the GTA5 at the highest image,1080p for nearly 2 hrs,the usage of GPU is up to 100%,but usage of CPU is only 31% and temperature at 88℃.So I think the cooling ability of computer is OK? And while playing GTA5 and DMC5,my computer did not power off again.

P.S.3
I changed my original AMD fan to Thermalright As120 plus fan, the effects of cooling was amazingly improved. Running Iceborne for two more hours, the temp of CPU is only 45-46℃,nearly 60% reduction!(But occupation is still very high,50-60%,for what reason?🧐) And I found that paste on my original AMD fan was little, maybe that is why my CPU boiled at that time.In last, thank you for everyone's suggestion and guidance.😀

This is not a game problem but a PC one.

If you have an AIO you may have a leak or a faulty pump; while if you use Air cooling check that the cooler it's propely installed and there isn't too much thermal paste.

It may also be your MOBO ( faulty sensor or VRM )

Don't play to any game till you didn't figure out the problem or your Ryzen will be gone for good.

Disable Real-time protection from Windows Security > Virus & threat protection settings and see if it goes away. And yes, it's pretty weird that we have to do this.

check for cracks in cpu heat sink.

if you have a liquid cooler, ensure there is enough liquid inside the radiator and test the pump for failure.

be careful to examine each component as you take it apart, dont miss a detail during disassembly, it will tell you a story.

after your analysis, reapply thermal paste with a plastic card to spread it evenly.

Of course I have checked the status of my air cooling. Before the computer crashed down, the speed of fan is up to 3002 RPM.Later, I ran the GTA5 at the highest image for nearly 2 hrs,the usage of GPU is up to 100%,but usage of CPU is only 31% and temperature at 88℃.So I think the cooling ability of computer is OK? And while playing GTA5 and DMC5,my computer did not power off again. In fact,I have stressed my CPU and GPU 1 month ago.At that time it was pretty well perfoming.

88 Degree 31% is fine? Man at 31% your temp should in the 50-60° range at most. I can confirm it's an hardware issue at this point.

Don't stress out your CPU more ... it's a miracle it's still alive with those temp. Bring it to the nearest PC repair centre and let them check it.

Try deactivating the windows defender while playing the game.

For whatever reason has the game supposedly 24 or 32 checks per second to see if you are cheating, and windows defender is checking each and every one of them and massively lagging and eating up your ram.

Did you read the part where he said that his CPU temp reach 88°C on 31% CPU usage with GTA5?

Don't listen to this noob/troller or you CPU will burn out.

88°C is pretty bad, i have ryzen 3 2200g OC'ed 3.9ghz and never actually go higher than 72-75C with stock cooler, and i live in a tropical country where everyday temperature can be up to 30s easily. there must be something wrong with your CPU/cooler

If I set off the advanced image in option of GTA5,temp of CPU will decrease to 74℃ at 21%.Is it still too high?In both games, temp of GPU at 100% is stably 72 to 74℃.
By the way, when I view website by chrome or watch videos, the fan is very quiet and temp of CPU is 38 to 40. Maybe the CPU fan from AMD should be changed to a stronger one...😔

The stock wraith cooler that came with your cpu should work fine for non-overclocked loads... check your thermal paste. There's got to be something funky either between the chip and cooler or with the cooler its self. Those are NOT normal temps.

GPU temp have no meaning. There is a problem with you CPU temp. 72-76°C it's a temp you should have with a 100% CPU usage ( likes your GPU ) not 21%.

My computer has been built for about 14 months, will the thermal paste fade away?
Maybe it's time to make a CPU surgery😔

Going to agree with everyone else here: you have a hardware issue with your cooling.

Those numbers remind me of a recent system I worked on, where the clamp that held the heat sink on had broken and the only thing that kept it in place was the suction from the thermal paste. Needless to say, the heat sink eventually became completely loose and worthless until I re-clamped it with a fresh paste application.

thermal paste should last for years if done properly.

I did, but I couldn't offer any advice to that. So I offered advice to the only thing I knew: The Windows defender being a ram hogging monster with MHW when its running.
