How can I beat Nargacuga?
This boi is extremely annoying. He hits like a truck, and he is very, very fast. I simply can't keep up with his movements at all, and in top of that, all the hits on his middle part (his wings, I think) bounces. Any tips?

I'm trying to solo all the monsters during the Iceborne campaign.

How would that help?

Just tenderize the wings and chain trip him.

Have you crafted Iceborne Armor yet? Are you using any Charms or buff potions such as Mega Demondrug and Mega Armorskin? You should be. Upgrade your armor fully. At that point in the game you should be nearing 700 armor. Make sure to use vitality decorations to get a Lv. 3 Heatlh Boost of 50 HP and always eat before a fight. Chef's Platter most straight forward for Stamina and HP ++

Use whatever Iceborne armor has the highest defense, and upgrade that armor completely if you want. For a while, I used the Banbaro Vambraces that gave Health Boost 2, then slotted in the last Vitality myself.

Nargacuga is very weak to Thunder so bringing an electric weapon might be a good idea.

Bring a melee weapon with you. Nargacuga only does physical damage, so the damage resistance given to you by being a Blademaster will help.

Make use of the natural traps placed around the Forest.

Eat the Chef's Platter for maximum health increase.

Slot in Health Boost 3 and Stun Resist 3, and maybe some Divine Blessing or Defense Boost, too. We can't run real builds this early into the expansion with the armors available, so we just take what gems we can get in there.

Bring Astera Jerky for the bleed that Nargacuga can inflict.

Bring Temporal Mantle and Rocksteady Mantle to minimize damage taken.

Make use of Shock Traps and Pitfall Traps and consider capturing instead of killing to save time and health (Pitfalls only work if its enraged).

Use the Clutch Claw to ram Narga into walls (keep that slinger loaded). Just make sure they aren't enraged when you try. Slot in one Agitator deco to know for sure, if you want.

Make sure to tenderize Nargacuga's parts.

Have your Palico equipped with a status weapon like Kitty of the Valley Rod Alpha +.

I'm aware some of this is a no-brainer. Just listing things as they came to me.

Astera Jerky and Lance did the trick for me. He is quite predictable and i cleared it with full HR gear. Avoid ranged weapon since his attack are fast and cover a wide area ( you will have a harder time ).

Never ceases to amaze me how the first batch of advice is always horribly vague advice that is more flex than help. These 2 are correct:

Another major thing you may or may not have been doing is you need to memorize the tells from each animations. Your not in high rank anymore this content isn't designed to be easy to get around. Narga stances with his Head, paws and tail before doing an attack. Each is very different from another. Sorry to be vague but I suggest you look at this and memorize what stance leads into what.

Most of his attacks can be dodged by being on the correct side as he's landing the attack. As for his break dance and pounce, the paw that is farthest forward is the safest. His tail slam is his biggest opening and you will have to check if he does it twice through audio que or giving it a second to see if he pulls it out fast.

If you have specific problems I can give specific answers. Elsewise I advise you play very defensively and only attack when you see a clear opening. Don't do anything risky unless it's knocked down. Thats how you learn G/M-Rank. You patiently find the new openings that are tighter than the old.

EDIT: Big advice for everyone. Never try to tenderize/wound the parts monsters use to attack with the most while they are able to attack. Do it when they are knocked down or tired. I seen too many people chugging potions to get body parts monsters attack with the most.

make a banbaro set

slap some speed eating decoration and health decoration

easy game...

if not just pop a SOS.... if you have problem doing these hunts you are either super undergear or still new to the game, remember this is G Rank

Equip your palico with the Kitty of the Valley Rod and either the Shieldspire, Vigor Wasp, or Flashfly Cage. Shieldspire so it can distract the monster from you (the stooge is awesome if you've lvl'd it up enough to unlock it), Vigor Wasp for the heals (and free resurrection if you've unlocked it), or Flashfly Cage for the free shock traps to temporarily keep Narga in place.

As for armor skills, it depends on what weapon you're using. However, I found max Vitality, level 2 Stun resist, and max Evade Extender very helpful (especially the latter since I use Gunlance.) I also slotted a Quick Sheathe jewel.
If you've yet to upgrade your armor from HR, now is defo the time to do so. (I highly recommend Barroth's greaves for the lv2 stun resist and for the 3 deco slots.)

Use either the Vitality Mantle, Temporal Mantle, or bring both, and use them as protection while studying Narga's moves. Tldr, learn to dance with the kitty.

P.S: Bring Astera Jerky to cure bleeding if you get hit, Max Potions--and the ingredients to make them on the go. If you're melee, also bring Smoke Bombs for when you need a breather, or need to take cover quickly to sharpen your weapon.

Good luck!
