Updating to win 10 would be one thing.

I have windows 10
best to limit your fps to 60 or better 30 i have a i7 and saw a small difference @60 and a big one @30 in cpu usage. if that didnt help just have to wait for a performance patch or maybe someone else has figured out, thats what i just notice while messing with something

Tbh i don't like play with 30 fps. I can wait for performance patch but did developers say they will do it?

Since when is updating to win10 a viable solution? Laughable response.

The game requirements say Win7 is ok, so it should be ok.
Luv it, how smartasses back the dev when others have problems, then become total crybabies, when they are faced with gamebreaking updates...

You do not have problems, I am glad. Just be supportive of people who do have problems, or stay out of the discusion.

Before dx12 I rarely had freezes and fps dips, now with dx12 no freezes yet and fps are more stable. It kinda works I guess. Raining Ancient Forest used to be 45ish frames now it's 55-60 with Kushala tornado effects.

Nothing really noticeable beyond, "We're looking into the problem" type stuff so hopefully they'll roll something out in a week or so. Ya i know 30fps is crappy but i get like 40-60% usage

It's apparently due to an anti-cheat they added with Iceborne. Causing the game exe to be scanned by 24 anti-cheat threads running one at a time.

That's a known issue that I have seen a lot of people report.
Be sure to contact Capcom so they can get this fixed as soon as possible.

You could try enabling DX12 or capping your framerate which might help to reduce the load on your CPU.
Perhaps setting the game's priority to high in Windows task manager helps to reduce the load as well.
If youre using Windows Defender you could add monster hunter world to it's exclusion list which has seemed to help for some people.

A performance patch is probably already on the way so hopefully they'll fix this soon as this is a very serious issue.

How about acknowledging the fact that quite a surprising amount of folks owning a pc don't know how to optimize it for gaming or other uses. They buy something off the shelf and think because it has an i5 or i7 attached that means its a good system, and can run any and all programs/games at the best settings because it has the "minimum requirements".
Having a good-great PC gaming rig takes more than throwing some random mobo's, cpu's , ssd's
graphics cards together.
Always has been this way, always will.

Can confirm that upping the games priority to high and reducing graphical settings a bit 'helped', though barely. The game still runs 10x worse, but it's just about playable. Will try reducing frames to 30fps max. Regardless, Capcom needs to fix this. Until then my review will remain a big fat Negative :|

For anyone: DX12 stutters _COULD_ be normal in the beginning. As far as I understand it, DX12 caches all shaders and has them readily available for future runs of the game. I had this in Borderlands 3 a lot but after a couple of minutes of playing it was superior to DX11. Not sure if it's the same in MHW, because here after turning on DX12 I had no stutters, just good performance so far.
Honestly my game is playable and i have 60+ fps rarely I have 3 sec freeze but i'm afraid about my CPU. I don't want to break my processor.

Your processor was made to handle loads to 100%. It has a built-in cap. Otherwise the consumer would constantly have to worry about not breaking his hardware. It might break at constant 110 or 120% load, but you are to never reach those thresholds.

Just make sure your case is properly ventilated and that your CPU cooler is half-way decent and you will be fine. CPUs are designed to run for days and years on end without break. Just make sure to keep it as cool as possible and you will be fine. I just hope you are not running Intel's default CPU cooler.
