I don't think it's actually timescale related though, as I literally had the game open for several hours (at some times idle) and the crash specifically occurred at the end of a cut-scene.
Seems like a programming related error to me.
Unfortunately, this doesn't help with the massive increase in CPU usage and temperatures introduced by the update.
I had Error 12 once so far with some stutters. Some say that it's Windows Antivirus, so adding an exception for the Monster Hunter folder (or just steam folder in general) has helped. But I've only had the problem once so I have no idea if it worked for me, but it might be worth a try for you. I have noticed doing it that the stutters have been better, but whether or not cause of that or something else I don't know personally.
I'm on a ryzen 2600x and RX 480 8GB btw if that matters. Haven't had any of the issues that people have reported outside of the Error 12 crash once thankfully. Enhanced Sync is also messed up in general up for AMD so anyone reading this make sure to turn it off. Freesync has been fine though, sometimes people confuse Enhanced Sync and Freesync.
And of course add exclusions for any third party antivirus. Hopefully that might help some.
