Preorder Bonus Availability

So I guess I missed the preorder period, and that is my fault, but of course now steam won't let me forget the expansion is officially out. On the store page they still have bundles up that include the preorder bonuses, but I can't buy them because I already own the base game? They're only like 10 bucks more, I'd be willing to shell that out, but I guess that isn't an option. Thats a pretty big middle finger from the devs... Like I've been away from the game for a while and was considering buying the expansion, but that just feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Pre-order bonuses for a DLC for a game I already own are more available to people who haven't even been playing the game? Ok Capcom.

There is a way to buy Master Edition even if you own the game and that is by remove MHW from your library

You can request Steam to refund your Iceborne purchase (if you've played 2 hours or less since Icebornes release - if they're feeling kind that is - asking them to put the refund into your Steam Wallet may increase your chances, as well as explaining what you're trying to achieve) and then follow up by asking them to remove Monster Hunter World from your library completely. I don't know if this will obliterate your save file from existence though so you should probably back it up.

Once they've gone through with this and you no longer have access to Monster Hunter World and the Iceborne Expansion, simply rebuy the game again with the full stack of goodies. There's a Deluxe version and a basic version from the looks of it.

For the record I don't think the Yumokumo (or whatever) armour is worth doing this, but if you're the kind of person who likes having everything, it's probably your only choice at this point. Only you know yourself if it's worth it.

I haven't purchased Iceborn at all yet since the bundle basically stopped me and there was no incentive to do it "right now" because the available ones didn't have the bonuses. Ultimately I agree with you I probably won't bother trying to mess around with getting my basic copy terminated though. I bought one of the higher editions on launch so I'm not risking any of those DLC's which I think are much better than this single layered armor, but I just had to vent a little. I'm just getting so fed up with all the limited time ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "deals" in the gaming industry in general. Then even if I was willing to throw the cash at them I wasn't even allowed. Maybe its best just to wait for a sale now that I'm not officially a preorder.

I got Iceborne, but it's missing from my Layered Armors and I'm not sure how to obtain. That reminds me, it could be that I have to talk to my house keeper in or near my own room, I remember having to do this to unlock the custom dances after purchasing them.
