Just rebind, i have a mouse with a ton of extra buttons that i let disabled cuz it seems too much for me.

and really i gave up mouse playing. its just eh. i ended up buying a xbox 360 controller. Tbf i always played on the psp since the first title so i kinda grew up with controller style.

for those who have not found the solution go to the title and click on options, then go to key config and press tab that will let you choose your mouse type

Thank you, but I am going to assume the option does not exist anymore? I don't see a 'key config' option on the title screen > options.

This has already been answered but yeah, you don't need to use side mouse buttons at all.

Thank you. No intention of necroing this thread but would like to confirm this worked. So while on the screen where it shows
"Keyboard Settings: Menu Controls -- Melee Weapons -- Ranged Weapons"
Navigate between the three mentioned tabs and press "Tab". It will let you choose the controls you prefer between different kinds of mouse.
