err12 graphics device crashed

Since today with Iceborne, i get this error which crashed my game 3 times already in 3 hours.

I updated my drivers, did not solve it ( radeon rx 5700)

Anyone having this issue too since the last update? any known fix please?

Ok i turned off HDR and it seems to not crash for now since about 40 minutes, hopefully it is a temporary solution until they patch and fix this problem. It doesnt look as nice though :/

I had this issue once today using a RTX 2060, so I'd assume it's rather rare and random.

Also never used HDR, so there's that.

Deinstall your AMD GPU driver with DDU and install the driver 19.12.1 - I had that issue weeks ago with my RX 5700 XT. It fixed my problems.

I had this error after just updated new nvidia g experience ver441.87. I bomb barroth when he sleep the game crashes right at when the bomb explode
I'm using Rtx 2060 super.

Did you ever confirm? RTX 2060 super here and i'm having the same issues with iceborne.

Did OP ever find a fix? ERR12 all the time on DX12 no matter the settings, but DX11 sees cpu utilization of up to 70-75% at times. On an RX 480 and Ryzen 2600x, used to run the game fine. Tried different drivers, different settings, etc. So incredibly frustrating.

ERR12 on DX11 too so that's great. If anyone else is getting the problem, please post whatever relevant info you can on the tech forum. Hopefully we get a fix soon.

Yes the problem is fixed for me and i can use HDR too, i didnt have a single crash with this error since doing the following :

In "Display" options from the main menu, I have set the "screen mode/HDR" to "Borderless Window" and enabled DirectX12 API. I also upgraded my Radeon drivers for 5700's.

Hopefully this can work for you even if you run a Nvidia card.

I'll test these out when my 5700 comes in the mail I guess. I still haven't found a solution to my crashing on my RX 480.

FYI Non of these worked for me, the problem was my small OC. Mhw doesn't seem to agree with it for some reason. So anyone OC'ing i'd just turn it off.
