CPU Running At 800MHz (???)
Is this the cause of the bad performance?

CPU turbo'd to 3.9GHz in-game before Iceborne patch just fine.

CPU clocks are fine when loading (Capcom logo, etc.), but tanks too 800MHz when game graphics load.

yeah thats gotta be huge bug idk why this keeps happening base game had similar issues on launch

♥♥♥♥'s ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Optimization is permanently Borked for this game. You have to downgrade your Nvidia graphics driver by quite a bit, all the way back to 398.36. Anything higher than that and your GPU will ♥♥♥♥ the bed, unloading all the graphics processing power needed onto the woefully underpowered CPU.

Wait, do you have an AMD CPU too?
because I have the EXACT same issue. Mine goes down to 750 mhz but all of the cores are fully powered out and running hot.

Graphics all low, Vsync disable, tried both DX11 and 12... still locked to 800MHz.

Yeah. I tried running it in 1080p compared to 1440p I was running it in. No difference there either.
