Worth it just for Single player mode?
Hey there, I'm a fellow MH player from the era around the PS portable, and I remember having tons of fun just playing alone and ranking up as I moved forward. Except the High level missions were I simple droped dead. :D
But.. I'm curious about this new installment. Are there improvements lets say in the "campaing mode"? Or it's more or less the same.

Also. Can I play this offline or it has always online requeriment? That's about it, i'm really excited to jump once again in the Monster Hunter series!

I played this entire game in single player, and only engaged in multiplayer when I have done everything there is to do. Monster Hunter IS a single player game after all, with co op element.

You can definitely play single player. There are only 3 monsters that require multiplayer - behemoth, leshen, and kulve. Behemoth can be done solo but it’s really tough, ancient leshen is tougher, and kulve can also be done solo but not as efficient as multiplayer. I believe that once in a while you need to go online for the authentication.

There's no split between village and guild quests anymore, it's all the same thing, just with a multiplier on health/stagger values when there's multiple players.

So unlike, say, freedom unite, you don't have to do the entire plot alone.

The only thing you need to be online for is event quests, which aren't until endgame for the most part anyway.

This is more casual than older MH games. Also there is no longer any forced multiplayer scaling like in previous games. Only a minor amount of monsters are standardly scaled for multiplayer but those were designed to be fought in a group. So you can solo everything without it taking years. And no you dont need to be online all the time you can play the game in offline mode:cleanseal:

This is more info than I expected, thank you so much all for all the feedback. Well, I guess I just need to get that money and jump right in.
Yes, I have a lot of nostalgia and love for this series specially when MH 3rd was around and kicking. But now that I'm finally have the chance to play it here I was curious about this new installment.

It's also really good about the offline mode that it's not forced. Well, I'm think I'm ready!

Once again, thank you all!
I'd suggest getting it on green man gaming. It's 66% off until tomorrow.

I honestly think it is more enjoyable solo.

For me going through the story and important quests was fun solo but after getting endgame stuff i had more fun helping randoms on random quests than keep soloing:cleanseal:
