Where's the fun on fighting Kushala Daora?
Seriously. This fight is probably the WORST experience I have had in my whole gaming experience. You fight an enemy that just won't let you fight it back. You will spend MUCH more time recovering from wind and roar staggering and running around while it's flying than actually fighting. Yes, you will say "hey, just bring 54346346 flash pods and that's all!". Nope, that doesn't sounds right.

The fun thing is Daora isn't even a hard enemy. It's just extremely annoying and frustrating because it does not let you fight, every time you try to land some hits, you are staggered by its wind aura. And when you finally connect 1 hit, it will hit you with its neck.

It's one of the worst enemy designs I have ever seen.

As a hunter, you need yourself, and just as importantly, your tools. You can't disregard flashpods; they're too overwhelmingly useful to ignore.

I mean, you shouldn't bring 54346346 flash pods, you should bring 3 of them. That's 54346340 less.
And that's not specific to Kushala Daora, you should always have those three flash pods with you, they are great.

Just hit it? Every few hits it will flop and wiggle on the ground. In the off chance it manages to fly just flash it. You'll hardly need more than 3 flashes.
It's by far the easiest elder dragon.

Hit it harder? I just shoot where the target shows up and almost never hit the head. Wherever you hit something will break and stun him.

meh, unless it flies then you're just making it more unpredictable; id argue flashes are detrimental for diablos/ody etc

It's tied for easiest Elder with Val, but I agree Kush is the most boring (Tempered wise). It's just not an enganging fight, and you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you're fighting her with friends and don't kill her before the 5 flash pods are used up and they become immune to it.

I don't have that problem anymore, but nothing will take away the fact it's just boring. Not hard, annoying only for some weapons, just, boring.

I'm curious is it that hard? I beat it first try without thunder mantle, but then again I am used to Kirin moveset on the PSP MH.

The fun of kushala daora is in stunlocking him.

Only takes 400 (or was it 300? I don't remember) damage to the head for him to fall like a dead leaf in autumn. Manage the damage done to the head while he is down, and you can stunlock him for ever and ever and ever.

the only thing i hate from him is the lag xD

Just killed him last night with longsword on my first try.

Just gotta keep flashing him when he flies up.

You can bring 13 flash pods (10 in flashbug form).

He gave me a huge drop in fps when he gets the winds up but it was only when I ran out of flash pods.

the fun in fighting daora is chain blasting him into the ground with 4 gunlances, now thats FUN.

If possible, slide attacks also help (hammer, dual blades, long sword).. but YMMV on the area. Elder's Recess is particularly great for this. I, too, find it very annoying (as melee anyway), but there's ways to deal with it.
Wait until you fight tempered Daora. After 3-4 flashes he becomes immune to it, and good luck even coming close to him when he has his wind aura always up. Not to mention the random dmg multiplier that might make him one shot you with every movement.
