If you guard point with charge blade you can go right into your big ♥♥♥♥ damage move.
I've told this t oa few people who didn't know it so I thought I'd just make a post for others who didn't.

It's any guard that doesn't significantly displace you. Yes including you just standing there like a lump and holding block, as long as the hit doesn't make you slide or flail. That said, practice those guard points folks. They're lovely.

yeah you're right, it's any guard I don't know why I only specified guard point. Good looking out.

It's useful but sliding is far superior, just attack, slide into position, let it rip or you can slide directly after a dodge which makes getting out of black blos' charge easier.

Guard point? What is dat?

That would actually require me to block the monster and invest in guard.

Ill just go back to investing in handicraft for that sweet sweet 10% extra saed swing damage which you can easily execute after shield stab.

Charge blades have points in animations where their shield are infront of them after or before an attack and if a monster hits you it'll count as a parry, it'll deal damage and it'll charge.
not to say you shouldn't space with it, but to say sliding is more useful when it takes longer is wild.

how is parry into a big ♥♥♥♥ damage which goes right into it less time than dodging or whatever an attack sliding into position and doing the xy xy?

any block with charged shield will deal damage.

that is not true, only guard points will and I thought "well maybe I'm stupid and wrong" so I tested it with a charge shield and I still didn't deal any damage.

Depends on the monster, some require you to position so your SAED phials hit down the body such as Kirin and other smaller monsters while black diablos will just charge through you and far out of your SAED reach.

PC gamers, R2 will be your CTRL key and Triangle most likely is going to be right mouse button.

well yeah those are different I would never big ♥♥♥♥ damage without positioning correctly with them.
