You can't. They're useful, though.

There's no downside using Tailraiders though.

Just another meatshield.

If you want that feature disabled, you haven't seen your Palico charge a monster while riding a Jagras and knock its ass down.

Girros and male kestodon are insane on being helpful, they are meat shield and status machines.

Seeing a male kestodon to charge a black diablos and knockout it down its badass.

if you fast travel to a camp you drop the monster support if you picked one up.

If you enter any area the monster can't acompany and stay there for over 20 or 30 seconds it will leave you. There is no way to prevent the cat from riding them though, he's a cowboy cat.

Some say its better to have the boss fully focused on you, turns it less unpredictable and easier to learn patterns. I agree with that, though my cat burst firing explosives through a mini ballista won me over.

My damn cat killed the monsteer before I could capture it three times already. Cats are more overpowered in this game than 240atk DoubleKO Felynes from Freedom.

Cats can't wake up monsters that are sleeping. Let it sleep if you're that slow to trap!

Ha, sleeping. As if it even got to get back to it´s nest.

So then leave your cat at camp

Apparently not. I only have them get in the way. Tried to CC and it kept failing.
Tailraider standing in front of me...
Preventing me from approaching the monster by standing in the way repeatedly...
Got me killed twice... I don't normally faint but it kept creating invisi-walls for me to get stuck on.

I like my cat and the buffs provided. I don't like the Tailraiders. They are the opposite of useful if people are wanting them to be disabled. Does this make sense when they keep getting you killed they aren't a benefit? Not super difficult to understand.
