This game has the worst hitbox system I have ever seen, maybe It's still better than older MH titles.
Fighting a Black diablos is the worst of them all. Imagine using a kinsect to jump 10 feet above a monster but somehow there is an "invisible wall" smack you down to the ground. Or standing a good distance behind a monster but still get hit when it moves forward, even monster tails are 3 times bigger but you can't see. It's frustrating to play when you continuosly lose but it is not your fault. I hope somebody was able to mod and fix this problem.

ecliptic meteor born to destroy them all everywhere on the map (not the area the map), you are only save in the camp inside the tent or at food table which is pretty stupid.

best part is when you get the message monster killed, but mission failed

Imo it's inevitable to have those "how that hit me??" moments. Collision detection is never 100%. However with certain monster animations those moments seem to occur more often, maybe someone could make an actual useful mod like visible hitboxes so ppl could elaborate it more. Personally I just get used to it, it's not like you don't know after a while that standing around legs can be a bad thing.

I wouldn't bother arguing this concept to fanboys. Yes, the hitboxes suck plain and simple. Those people that get around that, think it is easy for everyone so there answer is 'GIT GUD'. I get trampled on by plenty of creatures, but if I give them an ubsurdly wide berth, then my evades work. Then again, that wide berth makes evades almost uneccessary. I have not played the earlier versions of monster hunter, but comparing this game to those and saying it's almost perfect is not a good argument.
A post somewhere in the discussions describes it best. You expect a car, but you get a forklift. The fanboys defend the forklift by saying it's more complicated. In the end, it's still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forklift.
You will not change the lovers of this game to think otherwise.

I would tend to agree with this, as MH has always been niche for several. However, it's been six months since the initial release. That is plenty of time for people to find out what they think is car is in reality a forklift. The most that any news of this port has done is show that this is a somewhat shinier forklift with its own set of issues. Thinking that the pc model forklift fixes everything "wrong" with the console forklift is naive at best. Don't be mad at the "fanboys" who knew what they were getting into just because you forgot to take off your beer goggles.

Diablos charges: if you're in the air above its head, it will hit You, somehow. If you're on ground its wings will clip right through You...

I get how you might think that man. but if you and the other complainants were so concerned about hitboxes, 5 minutes of google would have answered all your questions, and you guys wouldn't have purchased or at least refunded the title.

I don't feel its fair everyone suffers because you guys feel you didn't get the game you wanted.

Who looks at a cool game and goes "Hey, I wonder if the hitboxes are any good?"

Nobody, that's who.

Well-made hitboxes aren't some fancy designer feature, they're a baseline expectation. There's no reason to assume a game *doesn't* have them.

it easily came up in research.

and if these guys actually were concerned about the hitboxes, they actually would have studied them.

I didn't even have them as the focus of my quick google study of the game, and it came up repeatedly in archived and old threads re: MH.

I don't see this as a valid excuse at all. A lack of wisdom does not denote a broken game. The monster is the size of a house, the hitboxes are just as big. Deal with it.

Then you never played other MH title lol, this one is the easiest becouse the hitbox arent a complete bullshiet like in other MHs

Despite playing solo, somethimes the game lags and rubber-bands. I've dodged attacks only to be teleported back to where i just was.

The first time it happened was against the Tobi. It was doing its super avoidable tail slam thing and i was way off to the side watching it and next thing i know i'm giving it a prostate exam.

Other than that, the hitboxes seem fine, i manage to squeeze thru diablos legs and wings when its charging so it's not like a sollid wall of death.

I avoided a cart on complete accident when I was learning Nerg's attack patterns and he did the air bomb dive. I uh...I apparently Super-Manned straight through Nergigante's entire body.

Sometimes, the game lags hard enough to actually teleport the monster in front of you, and sadly they seem to take advantage of the lag. Other times, the hitboxes are so janky that you can either dive straight into it and not get hit or be a mile away and get carted.

Not all of them are bad, but there's some pretty nasty ones.

That one's not a hitbox thing, the superman dive straight-up makes you invincible for the duration.

Yes, monsters are big and so should be hitboxes but we expect them to be accurate with what we see on screen...
Fun fact: first monsters in Ancient Forest(those not hostile dinosaurs) do not have hitbox in like first 30% of thier body starting from head. Go to Ancient Forest and try it yourself.

seems like everything is your fault but you don't seem to actually think about the why

just so we're clear i had the same problem than you at the start when using the long sword launched attack (never played a mh before) and all I had to do was to trigger it from a different angle while going for the same body part at the end

its that complicated bro. + there are decorations to completely nullify any kind of knockback if you're that bad

tl dr : if you're doing full frontal attacks you're doing it wrong
