Here's[imgur.com] a picture of the comparison, for reference.
to top it off it has 3 agus slots as well.
https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Barroth+Club+III
294
15 D bonus
3 Augs Slot
With the -10% affinity I feel like the /actual/ damage output would be lower than raw Master Bang, no?
Or am I putting too much value in that weakness?
yea you kinda are, in SnS you most probably gonna some Critical boost anyways which is normally around 50 plus in crits anyways plus
damage is 28 over the Barong (the real difference is slower after the bloat of course)
2 Slots by default (has the slot for the elementless)
5 more D Bonus over the Barong
10%, which a SnS user will never be lower than like 25% anyways. for example with weakness explote which is around 50% increase plus all might which is another 30%...10% means nothing at that point. that is not even including the 5% increase you get with attacking Gems
i mean you can make both and hit the wall in the training section to see the damage differences as well.
If we check the stats :
https://mhworld.kiranico.com/sword
Master Bang 280 200 (330 Thunder)
red 22 orange 30 yellow 10 green 13 blue 12 white 0
red 22 orange 30 yellow 10 green 13 blue 12 white 0 blue 24
jewel 3 RARE7
Grand Barong II 266 190 (300 Paralysis)
red 22 orange 30 yellow 10 green 13 blue 12 white 0
red 22 orange 30 yellow 10 green 13 blue 12 white 0 blue 24
jewel 3 RARE6
1 - the true raw damage, MB is better
2 - if you want to use the Free Element skill to unlock hidden elements, MB is thunder, GB is paralysis, so it's not the same thing.
3 - the sharpness is equal, even with handicraft.
4 - jewels are equal size.
5 - Rarity is different, so with transcendence, the MB could get 2 upgrade and GB 3 so you can equalize the 2 raw, the difference is mainly the element.
So if you just want a raw sword without free element, MB is better,
With Free Element and/or transcendence, MB is still the best dps weapon, but loose his non-element damage.
Paralysis can be interesting too, as paralysed monster take more damage.
IMO, craft the 2. when hitting Alpha difficulty, you realize that it's in fact quite cheap...
