Kirin quest HR 49 (rant)

How come people made it to HR 49, but still don't understand the basics around elements and blights?

Solo I had almost beaten Kirin, but with a full team (of randoms) we barely get past 1/4th of the health. Most people think it is a great idea to land combos as melee when Kirin is enraged.

Lost so many kills due to the same type of players carting over and over again. Like the first time you cart, okay mistakes happen. Learn from it. But then they proceed to make the same mistake again and 5 minutes later we have lost the kill.

The lack of basic knowledge around monster hunting is missing in the majority of the players that I've encountered. I have seen way to many players trying to get a high dps rather than being an efficient teammate. And guess what? They always end up carting at least once.

At this point I think I have more chance of beating this quest as a solo player than going in with a team. Had to do all previous Kirin quests solo as well since the amount of players that don't know what they are doing is too big.

At this point I thought most players would've had at least thunder mantle or jewels to nullify thunder blight, but so far I have seen only 3 people that had a set-up like that.... from the 20+ I encountered.

Pff feels good to rant a bit.
How did you get past HR 49? A long patient battle in solo? Friends? Or a decent random team?

I have already beaten the quest in solo. It was a lot easier without team mates carting left and right.

I can imagine what OP described. Tempered kirin was the second real hunt I did in this game. The amount of damage and plethora of fast attacks from him made it super fun to endure. Hit'n'run fighting at its best. However I made sure to stack stun/para/thunder res, and I couldn't imagine going into that hunt with people I can't 100% rely on. Really hope mate makes it to that point, curious how that Kirin plays with bigger health pool.

Well it’s not a smart idea to play with 4 people, on PS4 beat Kirin in about 15 minutes solo. Also no one is dumb enough to have 4 melees against Kirin

I imagine a 4p hammer party could be beautiful like synchronised swimming, all getting their upswings in and rolling away in a nice pattern :D

Fight Kirin with 4 melees - 30 minutes

Pretty much this, except it's nothing to be proud of afterwards.

Like beating Kirin with a greatsword and beating your chest like an ape afterwards because you made him your ♥♥♥♥♥.

There are far too many new players that treat this like a hack and slash. With the right teammates, they most certainly get carried to the higher HR ranks. I like the idea of the SoS and grouping system for people that don't have friends that play MHW, but you still basically have to go on reddit and make a premade group just to avoid frustration. The system is garbage from what it looks like. I personally refuse to play with anyone but my friends for this reason. The game is so bloody easy right now without G-rank and lack of monsters. I almost dread to see new players attempt G-rank if it's ever added.

*edit - Forgot to mention: Solo'd my HR49 Kirin with IG. Stupidly easy to avoid any of the lightning attacks with quick hitting weapons. I'd imagine most IG users in an SoS scenario would just leap into a lightning strike and proceed to waste a cart or two.

I knew it was gonna be bad with teammates, so I prepped for solo. Gemmed for Thunder resist, brought a Fire bow and the Thunder Res Mantle, and went to town solo. I died once, but cleared the first try.

He is actually not so hard, if people would consider putting 3 anti-thunder gems in their armours and playing a little bit more carefully while thunder res mantle is on cooldown..
But yeah if you want to be safe, just do him solo!

cuz he is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ easy to get with any LS to me, his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ attacks scream HERE WE COME before hitting so why the ♥♥♥♥ is anyone having a hard time with that? and OP wait till you get to hr100

I just bring my Teostra hunting horn and thunder mantle ,the palico having a blast element weapon as well and laugh as I pound the ever living crap out of him.

Note : Teostra HH has resist all abnormal status. So no stuns, no paralysis and hence no blight.

Edit : alternatively, for solo fights, let the cat bring Coral Orchestra as his gadget. Play safe until he plays the Negate stun and negate paralysis songs, and then go to town on Kirin.

People mostly just casual who never seriously read tutorial, hints or any old MHW videos from PS4 era.

This is why I will never help people beat Kirin 49 quest, not even my IRL friends where I helped them to reach 49 in each quests.

I told them this is your true test to be a true HR before meeting all others Tempered ED.

Anyone who actually helped people beat Quest 49 need to stop to do this.

This is like graduation quest for all MHW players.

I just soloed it last night, for the first time. Cuz I was too pissed to group kill with others for Kirin.
Even tho I Grouped with some good players (those keeps healing the team or with good resist gears) and killed Kirin before,
I can't count how many times people came into my room then died 3 times and mess up the Kirin quest for me when I didn't even died once.
They don't even have sv gear or mantle or resist stun or hp+ decorations yet they dare to come to someone's Kirin room then died twice in 5 mins.
They are horrible. They just want someone to get it done for them when they are dragging people's legs.

I have done with 4 melee its about 10-12 minutes on ps4 with 1-2 range around 7-9. its not hard compared the arch tempered. even if its arch tempered i still use my trusty greatsword in sos. UNLESS YOU Use the dual gays. its gonna be 40 minutes solo.

Material farm on quest 49?

Also quest 49 is tempered kirin, if you want kirin material you go against normal kirin.
