I get why people say MHW is so easy
After playing some Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on my Switch, the controls are just brutal compared to MHW. Seriously, half of the difficulty is fighting the controls and the awful movement of the player character. MHGU is an awesome game, but I can appreciate all MHW did to modernize the series all the more now.

Also, 3ds port on a fullscreen TV is just weird lol

Not understanding what problems people are having with the controls in Generations Ultimate. World is slightly more fluid; it's streamlined for the audience it was targeting. Still, when I jumped into the demo with the hammer, aside from maybe two of my moves being missing, everything felt fine.

People are used to QoL in modern games. GU controls are utilitarian and exist there only for you to control your character. There is nothing underneath that makes it feel more smooth, the controls always do exactly what you tell them to, and there's little to no way to correct your mistakes after you commited them.

You have to be even more precise than in MHW about the way you control your characters. There's no actual problem with the controls, they are just not flexible and do not allow for mistakes.

For me it's mostly the poor hardware. Switch might be a bit better but oh boy, does 3DS suck for action games like this. Now compare that to XBOX S controller, or even Dualshock there's no competition.

That sounds about right.

Pick up a bowgun, see what happens.

Why would I? I mean, I know they revamped the way that the bowgun works, but I don't use bowgun. I use hammer, and I didn't notice much a difference at all. I can only speak to my experience.

MHgen/genU is still one of the easier ones. if you want difficulty not behind controls like in MHFU then go play MH4U.

Well then don't bother bringing up that you don't understand it with your limited perspective.

Maybe it is because I played on emulator, but MHFU controls never bothered me. Like it was said a few posts up the controls in that game punished mistakes more, after some time I felt the controls very responsive. That being said I can't compare to the original PSP, so that might be the issue.

moving while drinking potions is cancer
lack of monster variety
game is too easy
weapon designs are boring and ugly
stun mechanics are terrible
monster KO, break, cut, exhaust and trip thresholds are waaaaaayyyyy too high in multi
arena scales to 2 player even if you join solo
arena gear sets are mostly terrible
grinding for investigations is lame
lack of convenient hunting hall/hub is totally awful

for every quality of life change they also took a step back. hoping the next game refines all this stuf

Lack of monster variety is normal since it's the first proper main line game on console's since the PS2 era they don't have prebuild models like on 3ds.

Game is not really too easy it's difficulty is near to on par with anything before 140 quests in MH4U and that is more difficult then Gen(gen is actually piss easy)

Stun mechanics are there because of you being able to eat and move if you don't like it don't get hit.

no issue's with breakpoints or KO's in multiplayer. about the same as in previous games

Arena's always scaled to 2 person they never where scaled in any game it was always balandced for multiplayer 2 mans

Arena armor set's where always garbage bar like 1-2 armor pieces.

Grinding for investigation's is easier and better then 140's in MH4U

The lac of conveniant hunting hall i will give you the gathering hub is terible.
Considering how much I felt like I was fighting the game and my own character instead of actually fighting the monster when I first started MHW (I've since gotten a bit more used to it with a faster weapon and an anti-stun spec), I can only imagine how fast I would have dropped any of the older MH games.

>Compulsive flexing after drinking a healing potion

Hoo boi.
The controls are damn near the same.
