MHW vs MHGU
So the last MH i played was MHFU and i loved it to bits, i couldn;t go on with the series cause i never owned a 3DS.

So my question is what would i prefer MHW or GU?

Probably GU. I'm liking World a lot more than Generations, but World is a very different game. So if you want more of the same, go with GU.
One game is played on an very old engine, has old style MH, while MHW is played on a brand new version of the game engine, and doenst have mechanics GU or G has...

Well obviously, you would like the switch game since it's an allstars version of the classic monster hunter games with content until you're old and gray.

World has so many changes, it's almost its own thing though I'm sure you would like that too.
It has way less content however, but the content is the best it has ever been.

I mean, sure, if you like carrying around all your pickaxes and nets again.

GU also has styles wich also make it a different experience from previous MH. But it's still closer to old school MH than World...

Chances are you would like both anyway, but for a more MHFU experience and more monsters to hunt, you'd probably wanna go for GU.

Styles/ You mean 'classes'?

If so, you're more free to do so in MHW, but it can still be the same thign.

They're entirely different games. MHW is just a new project, an empty canvas waiting to be painted. MHGU etc are well established and well developed games at the current "end" of their current cycle.

Quite a few differences. The one that has the better foundation is going to be naturally better though - but they're both decent games regardless, just MHW has less content for now.

First Generations, then World.

MHGU is the closer to FU, just a lot easier due to improved hitboxes, newer moves for old weapons and a few newer weapons that were introduced in games after FU, hunter arts which are some anime ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you can spam a lot, hunter styles which limit your moveset in exchange for a couple different things, such as one hunting style that allows you to roll through attacks and do counter attacks.

MHW is a completely different beast, and while it isn't so different its unrecognizable, its certainly not nearly as close. The game is probably one of, if not, the easiest MH game in the series, due to many monsters having forgiving hitboxes and a few mechanical changes that are more forgiving.
All the weapon types that are in GU are in World as well, Arts and Styles aren't anywhere to be found, not as many monsters as GU so the roster is a lot less bloated, Item gathering is not nearly as slow as in GU or older games, the best graphics in the series (Although this is really minor to me), doesn't require you to pay to play online, because PC version, like GU would since the only version outside of Japan is the Switch version, and has much less jarring new monster.

Styles more like part of your moveset is missing but you now have iframes on the weapon sheathing animation, canceling it with attacks fills up a bar and once it's full one of your moves changes entirely and you get triple dodges.
Or part of your moveset is missing but you can now jump and do new aerial attacks and mount monsters at will.
Etc.

GU if you fine without sparkling next gen looks, quality of life improvements and want 90+ monsters to hunt.

At this point gu, mhw is horribly starved on content.

Nah, I mean styles. Guild style, striker style, aerial style, adept style, brave style and alchemy style.

*including deviants and clones. It has much more game on it than world, but still.

Personally I recommend gens first because even though it's a good game overall, I don't think I can go back from World unless it's imperative that I play it on the go.

Not a dirty console peasant, so MHW? :mhwhappy:

GU actually does look fun, but I am one of the apparently zero percent of people who have never owned any Nintendo device.
