Stay away when you see him turn Red.
Using Flash Pod if you can't stand him flying around you.
Solo'd both Tbazel's with IG and then farmed him for his armour. Always take off his tail first as that removes part of his moveset and reduces the number of bombs.
Yup, I've Solo HR29 easily with charge blade and dual blades.
The reason why some people find it unbeatable because most of them just spaming attacks as if the player is Kirito from sword art online anime while completely ignoring the Bazelgeuse's telegraph moves.
His bombscales explode yes, but the damage is Fire. The only Blast resistance you can get is a resistance to the Blast status effect.
For Dual Blades, hit the legs from his wing sides.
Hitting dropped scales will immediately detonate them.
Swing in, hit the legs until he drops bombs, dash out, bait him away from the bombs on the floor and wait for the knockdown that results from hitting his legs.
Once knocked down, go first for his tail, cutting that reduces the number of bomb scales that drop behind him.
Damaging his head does the same for frontal bomb drops.
Flashpod him whenever he flies for free knockdown damage time.
Bazel is designed to punish melee who aren't patient.
You can't even blame "wrong moves" all the time, because my big stand out moment of getting lit on fire was when I mounted bagels, and then got lit on fire as he flopped onto a bunch of leftover scales after the finisher. What a waste of my time.
I beat them no problem without it, my first time just getting fed up with him during an investigation. But it certainly speeds up cutting his tail off and stuffing a trap up his nose to bring along 20+ fire resist for the job.
You can also sloppy and "impatient" as melee if you are lance or gun lance. Not completly because being hit from behind isn't something shields are for, but it certainly neuters a good majority of his moveset.
That tiny platform up in the elevated area of elder's is GREAT to fight him as a lance or gunlance, because the tiny platform means he isn't running 70 miles away from you with each rush so you just tank the explosions and belly flops and get immediatly back to pokes. no chase involved.
That kind of backwards logic would be a lot more suicidal with say, switch axe.
Do not dare to attack him near reddish scales. He doesn't toss them, they just get dropped after a while. He has no animation for it and they deal quite high damage. So, if you can attack him without risking your life, do so (In other words, mostly hit&run).
Also, his tail drops almost half the bombs he can throw so, cutting his tail is a priority if you can.
After cutting the tail, I usually go for mounting, which will drop him to the ground and turn off his scales.
Main weapon: Longsword
-Learn his pattens. COnstantly be running so you can easily evade. Once that's done, get a few hits in after the attack. Don't get greedy. His stuff is all telegraphed with openings to attack after...
-Flash pod him when hes in the air to stop the bombs and get some free hits
General Monster Hunting tips:
-Use the Vitality mantle gadget
-Have the atk/defense charms in your inventory
-Break parts off of him, weakens him and makes him do less damage
-Use traps as an opening to get more attacks on him in a pinch
-Use DemonDrug/Armorskin (lasts until you cart)
-Don't let him reach his nest. Capture him or flash him to stop it. He will just be enraged the whole time there.
-Double B52 tip:
Let them fight each other for most of the fight, and if they are going for you, dungpod one, focus the other using tactics above.
When he starts shaking off scales just dont engage him until he pops them, usually wait for him to finish an attack and then you can go in for a few hits, retreat, rinse and repeat.
He's not hard, just annoying.
For real,use it.
