weird thing with paliicos
was playing last night and random palico just appeared while i was playing by myself.. it was a friends palico (I: think) and just joined my party and followed me arond and helped out as if i had 2 palicos

during the random quest i was doing with my palico and that one would have banter and discuss what the other palicos meowster likes to do during combat

was kind of neat

question is.. how to get this to happen more often? I did like 30 random quests last night and i only saw this once.

They appear around the map in set areas. Where they spawn is randomly selected from those areas, and it can either be a friend's palico or a group of three from one of the groups you've befriended. Look for the green dots when you're running around, they point out npc's like that. If you have someone else in the quest with you though they can't join you.

Tailriders.
They will randomly spawn on the map and walking your palico near them will have them join while you play solo.
They will look like x3 native palicos (bugtrappers, shield bearers etc) or x1 friend card palico.
Only one will join you.
You can look on the area map once you are in, search for the white cat icon (looks like two cats together).
Each map has spawn points they regularly appear at.

Trading guild cards will cause this to occur more often, only palicos of people you have exchanged guild cards with can show up in your game. The more cards you exchange the more frequently you will see other players cats while playing solo.

The game sometimes randomly spawns single palicos. There are some default solo palicos but these can sometimes be the palicos of people whose guild card you have. They tend to be pretty good fighters, about as good your own palico but of course you have zero control over their actions.
