Noob monster hunter player needing help.

I am hunter rank 35, i currently am using the bow and i need something to put in an item to help put in more damage. I am trying to aquire the Affinity Booster tool. I looked up online on where to get it and it says to start with the Research Base quest chain starting with the quest "A Tingling Taste." This quest is no where to be found in my quest list (optional 6*). Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this/ help get the affinity booster.

Have you been back to the research base yet ? I did this chain today, had not have it in my log as well, but the third fleetmaster had it upon traveling there.

A Master's Toast delivery
Stuck in their Ways
A Fire-Spewing Brew delivery
A Sore Site
RRRRRumble in the Waste!

Remember to go to the Research Base to talk to people for quests.

Talk to npcs at the main base or side base. Also try to look up if it has a "Researched X number of monsters" requirement.

I have yet to find any of the mentioned quests (optional quests). I have also gone back to the research base and had no icons or alerts saying that i had quests avaliable.

This vid shows how to unlock every mantle/booster item... The affinity booster starter chain quest should unlock automatically once you progress to a certain point in the game. Make sure to check EVERY corner of the research base area for the quest as usually the little "!" Quest icon won't show up on the minimap until you're close to said NPC... It's a long haul but totally worth it.
