How do you make the monster eat meat?

Do you have to place it when it is exhausted and/or when you are hidden? Does it depend on the monster? Is it ramdom to a certain degree? I want to give some use to the tinged/poisoned/drugged meat and the game just won't let me eat them myself

It depends on the Monster. Only a handful of them will eat the meat.

Take your pants off and offer it meat.

When they get exhausted (icon with mouth salivating on minimap), they will go look for food. They could find your meat then and eat it.

if there is no guide you should make one.. that is a really awesome mechanic like capturing that not many people have mastered.

I have used meat extensively in past games and you could just pop it in front of them while fighting and they'd eat it when hungry, but i have not used them even once in this game so i can't comment if it remains the same.

The only time I managed to get the monster to eat the meat was being with a coordinated team. Once they change area and are hungry, you run into the next area, ghilie up and put the meat in their face. They will eat only when theres no hunter around, so it also requires that the hunters stay outside the zone undetected so that the monster eats in peace. Then once the effect kicks in, jump the trap.
