lack of creativity
idk about any of you but ive been playing mh since the 1st game and this game is great but there seems to be a obvious lack of creativity in this game like all the weapons look the same to the last few and all the monsters are the same you got 2 dog/squirrel monsters 2 raptorish monster a bunch of flying wyverns the vaal hazak is just a dirty kush with slow moves and radobaan is a dirt version of uragaan anyone know what went wrong with this games creativity was it they were trying to be realistic

Totally. They are too stiff with monster variations and only ever adding wyverns.
Hopefully they'll add tons of other species when G-rank rolls in.

All the dromes were copies of each other.

Cuga is a tigrex clone.

Gypceros and garuga are yian kut ku variations.

Arzuros is based on lagombi. Much like Volvidon.

Duramboros is a Barroth +.

Having variations over the same skeleton and moveset is practically a mohun staple at this point. If anything there's less of it in World.

thats just not true my dude monsters have the same body type cause there the same monster type tiggy and cuga and barioth all brute wyverns yian guraga is rathian skele but looks like a yian amd gypceros is alot bigger than the yian in world all of the skele are diffrent so all monsters feel diffrent but the creativity isent there making it feel the same

The weapons and armors are uninspired for the most part, that's for sure. I had the exact same iron hammer until the first Nergigante hammer. I'm about to start playing MHGU for the switch and I hear that has hundreds of different weapons total. Also, with a lot of variety. It's one of the few flaws I think this game has.

Came from MH3T/MH3U & MH4U. Weapons are very copy/paste and very lacking in the creativity department.

I agree. Too many monsters too alike, as well. Even if their movesets are different, they still have the same shape, shape frame, they're almost like what the subspecies SHOULD be rather than just colour pallete swaps.

Great Jagras > Great Girros > Dodogama

Kulu Ya-Ku > Tzitzi Ya-Ku

Tobi-Kadachi > Odogaron

Pukei-Pukei > Paolumu

Radobaan > Uragaan

Deviljho > Anjanath (I guess, hard to make different "T-Rex" types though)

etc, etc. They do feature wildly different mechanics and are in some cases from the same genus I guess but you do feel like you're fighting the same monster with different wrappings too often in my opinion. A bit sad, but there's the hope that the future will bring many different and varied monsters, like Lagiacrus etc.

Anjanath is pretty "creative" though and by "creative" I mean one of those silly things your kid draws when they try to design something cool and awesome lol. What the hell is the point of his wing-fins anyway? Or the spikes in his tail..does he even use those?

Creativity = effort, it feels like they make a lot of similar monsters to make use of the same mechanics and movesets already coded into the game instead of having 30 unique monsters all with their own moves and equipment, not to mention the visual artists hired to create all the new skins for weapons, give the game a break since it's on a new engine, the whole thing had to be built from the bottom up compared to previous entries which could borrow from the later installments.

Well yeah the weapon upgrades do seem a lot of copy and paste from each other, with the same names even. But i guess that's unavoidable when you need to account for 14 different weapon styles and make them somewhat balanced with each other and themselves..

THEN YOU SHOULD PLAY DARK SOUL, WHERE EVERYONE USE SWORD TO KILL YOU.
Yes dark soul lacks its creativity too

They definitely weren't generous enough with the weapons though.

Frozen Core+ upgrading into a Cocytus, which requires end game materials. It looks exactly the same, despite being a fairly unique looking weapon / hammer anyway. Really disappointing.

At least the Nerg weapons gave you something to be excited about.

Except everyone uses them so they are just "normal" now.

People wait for hi-res MH for too long. They just don't care half of monsters are just reskin and put back in game
WAVΞ Aug 30, 2018 @ 7:43am
Agreed, in the previous series, there are alot more variations of the monsters. However, I think capcom has a limited area to add more monsters, like they wont makin too many monster in 1 biome.
They could add thundra and add such as gigginox, tigrex, zamtrios
Chameleos, nerscylla, rajang or congalala would be great too

Although same skeleton, These things all have very different moves from eachother. Tobi and Odogaron in particular are almost nothing alike in terms of how they attack and behave. Although they may have the same frame and posture, these are very different fights. You might as well be trying to state that Diablos is just the same fight as a Rathalos since they have a similar model.
