For the love of Christ, please fix Vaal Hazak Fang+ drops

So it took 25 minutes with a hammer and 20% partbreaker, dropping him 3 times and comboing his face, an investigation with 3 silver rewards, and plunderblade to break his face and get 2 out of the 5 fangs I need. Look at any forums anywhere and you'll see that this is an issue. Not only does he hang his head 10 feet in the air 90% of the time and very often lifts his head to the ceiling in preparation for gas attacks, not only does he flail around the battlefield even more than Kirin, not only is his head the most dangerous place to be at, not only are there any decently reliable spots to mount and drop him, not only does it take so many hits to break his face, but...they don't even have the decency to make his head a weak point? Just like every single other monster in this game? Something needs to be fixed here. Decent solutions?

-Have his head hang lower
-Make his head easier to break
-Add environmental hazards to drop on him
-Make more or higher ledges to increase mounting probability
-Give him some aerial attacks so that flash pods are relevant and can drop him
-Make his head a weak point instead of his legs

Any one of these solutions would make breaking his head a lot more fair and reasonably doable, and the fact that I still have to get 3 more fangs makes me want to hang myself from the ceiling.

I was hitting him square in the nose with my hammer, and it was doing white damage. His neck on the other hand was giving me orange damage. That doesn't make sense to me.

HBG/LBG break his face like punching a cake and it is easier.

I haven't touched ranged weapons in this game yet, but the fact that the hammer (the part-breaking masterpiece) isn't even viable for this job really sucks

Hammer can do orange damage after you break the head. or else, you are going to do 40 percent damage and yes, fang is hard drop like I killed 30+ of it but still has like 3-5

As a great sword user, I broke pretty much every part of val multiple times and the fangs are indeed rare. Make sure you do an investigation with lots of silver rewards or gold, because that how I got them. They were never in drops/bonuses, only in the rewards. I did however get 1 off a carve.

Yes this is my first MH game, but thank you for the link, I'll be sure to reference it. It's just weird for the neck to be vulnerable, but not the head. I would think either would be vulnerable, or at least the other way around.

keep hitting its head until a notification pops out saying it's head is broken. probably at 20% of it's HP. after that, just "return from quest" to save time (unless you're doing investigation quest)

Carving has a pretty nice %age to loot a fang, I don't really recommend doing that.

all RNG, whe wanto meter is high with this one. i always get them so easy. its harder for me to get stuff like "shell/Carapace"...
