New Patch Fixed Performance!
Just wanted to leave a note, if you stopped playing MHW due to the recent performance problems (like I did), give it a boot up again after the latest patch. For me, it’s pretty much back to where it used to be. A massive improvement and the game is finally smooth and playable again without all the “workarounds”. I’m shocked to be honest.

To the Devs; thank you for valuing your paying customers enough to resolve the issue. I left a negative review of Iceborne, after calling MHW one of my favorite games ever. I’m changing it to positive again. Not that it makes much difference, but clearly you heard about the issues and took them seriously.

Happy Hunting everyone. I’m glad to finally be playing one of my favorite games again

You're one of very few. Most people who had 100% CPU issues that are limiting their GPU are still unable to play.

Fixed it for me as well... I had mad stuttering and high CPU usage, now I have no stuttering and average CPU usage... But it completely broke the game for others. I can't really see any pattern to it, just seems random.

No, people with issue are the very few, there are MORE people now than there were before

I never had performance problem. Lock at 60 fps on 2k w/ texture pack. Only problem is extremely high gpu usage, 100%. So higher temp. Around 75c on one core. For a really not demanding game, its just bs. This latest patch actually made it run hotter then before

i had issues with the game stuttering aswell even after the update. Then i just switched from win 7 to win 10 and the game now runs like a charm. Would recommend everyone, who still runs on win 7 and experiences problems to finally do the switch.

Sounds like the problem is based on the other software/mods people have running, that they aren't willing to compromise with. It only seems random because all the info people ever spit out is their hardware specs.

The update dramatically reduced my CPU usage and the stuttering issue has been solved as well.
Framerates are a bit higher then they were before the patch and the game is a lot more stable overall.

My framerates are a lot better compared to the release of Iceborne but theyre still not as high as they were before that particular patch.
They stated that theyre still planning on releasing further patches to improve optimisation so I'll probably see some more improvements with future patches as well.

I am running quite a few mods myself though.
But yeah, as with anything, use mods at your own discretion...

Well I can tell you, I never run any games with any other software running at the same time, outside of the actual operating system (win 10) and basic drivers. No discord, no obs, nothing. My system is clean. I’m so OCD, I know what every default running process does so I can tell if any software hid running processes. And before this patch MHW went from smooth 60fps to a stuttering mess with Iceborne. But for me at least, it’s back to normal performance and I’m grateful. Albeit, DX11 seems to have been completely broken with IB. But running DX12 after this patch gives me the same performance DX11 used to so I’m happy
