They're not meant to solo but you absolutely can, and you can always find other players doing them anyway. The challenge quest is also available and it's scaled for only one player making getting arena stuff even easier.
Git gud and learn a different weapon if you can't use your main.
Literally NO ONE in my group of friends (we are 8 players total, including myself) like those garbage quests lmao
We do them sometimes as to get coins, but man they are awful :(
Most of the time you have to use crappy gear to defeat challenging monsters with almost no recompense or fun.
I wouldn't mind if they were removed from the game :P
Arena quests are just "benchmarks" for competitions.
If you think that the only thing to consider something a great success is finish it by an inch then you have some low standards for yourself.
Go away now.
Of course, it may be just the way I see it but tweaking my builds is one of the coolest things in World/Iceborne, when I'm suddenly "disconnected" from my normal experience just to get a stupid coin, I feel and unmotivated. All of my friends feel like this as well.
TBH, whatever lol
TBH, whatever lol
I do however, wish they were 4 player arena quests. Since when playing with more than one friend, doing Arena quests becomes rather tedious to try and farm coins for say 3 players, rather than just 2.
That being said, I do remember me and one of my good friends who used to challenge our other two friends to arena quests, and see how fast we could beat it. Turns out, we pretty much flat out beat their time by more than 2-3 minutes each arena quest we did.
Again, the only complaint I have with Arena quests, would be only being able to do them in a duo, instead of four players. Well, that, and the unbelievable hacked world records, which I haven't checked Iceborne yet for, but probably still there, because.... "PC".
I think gear from the Arena Quests goes to show just how dedicated some people actually are to Monster Hunter Games, and I think exclusive gear for doing Arena Quests, should be just that. If you're not willing to go out of your way to do something that's meant to be a challenge, and or outside of your comfort zone, you probably shouldn't be complaining about someone who has the gear, because they took the time to do it.
Think of it like "Rainbow Color". It's purely optional, you don't have to do every single Optional Quest, but if you want the Rainbow color, you're going to do it. Arena Quests fall in the same category, it's optional, the gear you get from the Arena Quests isn't the greatest by any means, but if you want it bad enough, you'll do it.
Arena is balanced about a special playstyle of the waepon. Nearly every equip has everything you need and a lot af potions, too. So there is room for mistakes. You have to understand the set and skills. Adept and overcome.
The reason arena is great is because the builds all suck. You can't just sit back and rely on wokeness exploit and critical boon for your damage and spam mantles for your defense every time they come off cooldown. You probably won't have flash pods or traps, either. You have to actually fight the monster, and your knowledge of more of the game is tested.
Case in point, I was playing with a friend who's main weapon for the arena was using Evade Window. He called the skill crap.
For those of you who don't, there are 2 methods to get through them:
1. Bring a friend. The monsters in these are not scaled to party. They will always have a health pool designed for 2 people. Also, giving them a second target helps a LOT. Don't forget you can cart NINE times. Your death count doesn't matter. Only time matters.
2. Go to "Online Session". Filter search for a session dedicated to Arena Quests, full or nearly full of people, especially Japanese. Go in, set up your quest and wait in the gathering hall. Someone will join within a minute. They will carry your ass to at least a B rank if not A.
