"I sure do love doing Arena Quest"
Said literally no one ever.

I got my one Hero King Coin for my Hunting Horn, never doing that ♥♥♥♥ again. Seriously, who enjoys these?

"Hey, you know all that time and effort you spent finding a weapon that really clicks with how you play, item set ups, decorations and armor that you earned and crafted into a set that clicks exactly the way you want? Well ♥♥♥♥ you, we are taking it away from you, hell, we might not even give you your main or most comfortable weapon too, eat ♥♥♥♥."

Capcom just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ why?

I really enjoy arena quests. Always have. The only part I hate is trying to find others to play them. They've always been a great way to try out new weapons and builds besides the always static masters touch full critical build that gets super boring

Speak for yourself, arena quests are great to filter out people who can actually play the game and those who can barely play when they don't have their their cookie cutter build they looked up from someone else.
They're not meant to solo but you absolutely can, and you can always find other players doing them anyway. The challenge quest is also available and it's scaled for only one player making getting arena stuff even easier.
Git gud and learn a different weapon if you can't use your main.

The arena quests are the only thing I actually dislike in Monster Hunter.

Literally NO ONE in my group of friends (we are 8 players total, including myself) like those garbage quests lmao
We do them sometimes as to get coins, but man they are awful :(

Most of the time you have to use crappy gear to defeat challenging monsters with almost no recompense or fun.

I wouldn't mind if they were removed from the game :P

wow that's a lot of BS! In arena quests you have 3x the amount of continues, they're not hard at all, they are just a slog. Also, I play with nearly every weapon, and most of the times the skills don't make any sense or are just garbage.
Arena quests are just "benchmarks" for competitions.

Just cause you have 9 faints doesn't mean that completing it using 8 is good lmao.
If you think that the only thing to consider something a great success is finish it by an inch then you have some low standards for yourself.
Go away now.

I always liked the idea of random monsters in the arena. You wouldn't know what you were fighting until you got into the arena. You could pick how difficult you wanted it such as 1, 2 or 3 tempered/non tempered monsters at the same time.

You talk like those are hard quests, that they separate skilled players from bad ones. My point is that they aren't hard at all, the problem is being forced to use random crap to fight (sometimes) challenging monsters for almost no reward. Beating arena quests with "A-Rank" isn't hard at all, hell there are players who beat the harder ones solo in an incredible small amount of time.
Of course, it may be just the way I see it but tweaking my builds is one of the coolest things in World/Iceborne, when I'm suddenly "disconnected" from my normal experience just to get a stupid coin, I feel and unmotivated. All of my friends feel like this as well.

TBH, whatever lol

Yeah using a weapon you are not comfortable with and a build you can pick and choose what your comfort skills are is a challenge that forces you to learn something new that's the point of the arena sherlock. So yeah it's challenging if all you use is your unga bunga weapon of choice and can't adapt that's why people ♥♥♥♥♥ about arena.
TBH, whatever lol

I don't mind doing Arena Quests, I think they're fun, and a good way to challenge players to fight monsters with limited resources.

I do however, wish they were 4 player arena quests. Since when playing with more than one friend, doing Arena quests becomes rather tedious to try and farm coins for say 3 players, rather than just 2.

That being said, I do remember me and one of my good friends who used to challenge our other two friends to arena quests, and see how fast we could beat it. Turns out, we pretty much flat out beat their time by more than 2-3 minutes each arena quest we did.

Again, the only complaint I have with Arena quests, would be only being able to do them in a duo, instead of four players. Well, that, and the unbelievable hacked world records, which I haven't checked Iceborne yet for, but probably still there, because.... "PC".

I think gear from the Arena Quests goes to show just how dedicated some people actually are to Monster Hunter Games, and I think exclusive gear for doing Arena Quests, should be just that. If you're not willing to go out of your way to do something that's meant to be a challenge, and or outside of your comfort zone, you probably shouldn't be complaining about someone who has the gear, because they took the time to do it.

Think of it like "Rainbow Color". It's purely optional, you don't have to do every single Optional Quest, but if you want the Rainbow color, you're going to do it. Arena Quests fall in the same category, it's optional, the gear you get from the Arena Quests isn't the greatest by any means, but if you want it bad enough, you'll do it.

I enjoy arena quests. I go in random arena lobbys and help the people to get the A rank.
Arena is balanced about a special playstyle of the waepon. Nearly every equip has everything you need and a lot af potions, too. So there is room for mistakes. You have to understand the set and skills. Adept and overcome.

I like arenas, I just don't like their lack of solo scaling, I don't like how few there are, I don't like how none of them allow four players, and I don't like that their primary reward is just coins. Having a few exclusive rewards isn't enough to draw players in. The lack of scaling and lack of an easy matchmaking system for them makes them a chore to bother with unless you have a friend willing to go with you. Great idea, terribly implemented. It's like even the devs barely wanted them in.

The reason arena is great is because the builds all suck. You can't just sit back and rely on wokeness exploit and critical boon for your damage and spam mantles for your defense every time they come off cooldown. You probably won't have flash pods or traps, either. You have to actually fight the monster, and your knowledge of more of the game is tested.

Case in point, I was playing with a friend who's main weapon for the arena was using Evade Window. He called the skill crap.

I've always kind of liked the Arena in Monster Hunter games (except for Tri, obviously), and the Deadeye set in 3 Ultimate was one of my all-time favorite sets. Thankfully, it's fairly comfy in Generations Ultimate, but being so used to solo play now (I've yet to even connect to another player), those 163 Coins just for High-Rank seem basically unachievable. I am seeing a couple of Arena rooms, but of course they're for G-Rank.

There's a reason why I don't do Arena/Set Equipment quests in any Monster Hunter game... The nightmares back in Freedom Unite's Training School (No carts) just for some piercings, fighting Kirin in the Arena with no carts, fighting Rajang with the bow (ending up in cliff sniping), fighting G rank monsters (Emerald Congalala, T.Shogun Ceanataur, P.Daimyo Hermitaur, C.Blangonga, Nargacuga, Hypnocatrice(?)) and ESPECIALLY Furious Rajang under the same "No carts" Rule. Normal arena quests such as "Two Furious Rajangs in the arena at the same time with your own equipment as a normal quest" is okay.

I personally love Arena, it's tough but, like in an old school game kind of way: After doing each one 30 times, I start to figure it out and learn all the tells and signs. My regular hunting is way way better now because of it.

For those of you who don't, there are 2 methods to get through them:
1. Bring a friend. The monsters in these are not scaled to party. They will always have a health pool designed for 2 people. Also, giving them a second target helps a LOT. Don't forget you can cart NINE times. Your death count doesn't matter. Only time matters.
2. Go to "Online Session". Filter search for a session dedicated to Arena Quests, full or nearly full of people, especially Japanese. Go in, set up your quest and wait in the gathering hall. Someone will join within a minute. They will carry your ass to at least a B rank if not A.
