It's one of those weapons that you'd use if you're fighting against a monster that is weak to both. But since it's difficult to get Crit Element and Crit Status with Razor Sharp, a weapon like that usually isn't worth it. Usually better to focus on a single element or status effect and maximize your effectiveness with that. That said, the weapons look cool af and you shouldn't let damage optimization get in the way of looking cool.
If you care about numbers, you're basically losing half the potential poison or fire damage you'd get from a single element/status dual blade set. But like I said before, just play how you like. Unless you're trying for speed runs, the time difference between that and a single element/status DB will be negligible.
Yeah it's okay to go for stuff like that. I'm running a Colonel Sanders cosplay with the meat hammer right now for the lols. I used to run Lobster Man with the Lobster Claw Hammer or Chef w/ Wok Hammer in Freedom Unite and still got good times due to my skill. 1 or 2 extra minutes is worth it if you get to look hilarious while doing it.
Oh yeah, you can do all sorts of cosplay nonsense in MH games with the right gear. Admittedly, MHW seemed to be really tame on that stuff until now with Iceborne. The older games just got straight up silly.
