its a neat skill for sure but your info really isnt news at all for anyone experienced (been known for nearly 2 years now and a quick google would have shown your info on the wiki) but aside from the dash juice effect (which only certain weaponclasses really need to begin with) the advantage just isnt as big as it seems sadly.
Also there is an antidote mushroom. The toadstool antidotes, iirc. Also you can already carry 7 max potions with you. Just bring 5 mega nutrients and 5 mandragoras. Bring 10 mega potions and dusts of life (and stuff to craft 4 more.) With all that healing, you don't need MM at all.
I'm an experienced, long-time support player and I've worked with MM plenty but in Iceborne I've seen it as a waste of slots/armor. Especially since you need that deco space for dps/survivability decos. Even on a support build, if you're not dealing damage you're playing the wrong way. Especially thanks to the monster scaling in IB.
Those thing are always permanent anyway, at least untill you die. So lv2 mushroomancer is kinda meh at best.
OR just choose a support Hunting Horn with defence up and healing.
I suppose it is preference. A more defensive playstyle is definitely viable and not carting is always better than carting, especially as a support. I don't run mushroomancer often, as I've never felt I've needed it or ran out of healing. Especially with free meal 3 and taking some (or all) of the first aid supply meds and the sushifish scales. That's so much healing it's not even funny.
Some people do get frustrated with supports that don't dps, but as long as you're keeping the team alive nothing else matters. Me putting more emphasis on dps (and buffing with might pills/powders) is just my own preference. And I'll admit it is way more comfy to run a defensive support build rather than a damage-based one, lol.
Unless it's Behemoth of course.
As dual blades I honestly find demondrug does virtually nothing, I don't notice any diff with or without it in terms of damage, even with a rarity 12 dual blade, it only gives maybe 10 attack at most? Thats not even 1 more damage on attacks with how the motion values work. As for defence, I personally feel defense does jack past a certan point as monsters seem to be set to have a min damage they hit you for no matter how much defense you have. I mean in high rank you have around what 300 def? I fight a high rank monster in my MR gear that has 800+ defense, imo those monsters shouldn't even be able to touch me period with that much defense, but they still do.
