Holy ♥♥♥♥, mushroomancer 3 is amazing.
I feel like i've seriously underestimated this skill, cause it's seriously amazing. For a quick rundown of what it does, it lets you eat mushrooms. The mushrooms give different buffs, some of which are extremely powerful.
Level 1 - Toadstools (Immunizer/Antidote*) and Blue Mushrooms (Potion)
Level 2 - Parashrooms (Armorskin) and Nitroshrooms (Demondrug)
Level 3 - Mandragoras (Max potion), Devil's Blight (Dash Juice), Exciteshroom (Random effect of another mushroom)

The reason I think this skill is just so powerful now is simply the fact that they outperform their normal counterparts by an extreme margin, and just are lying on the ground!

This skill pretty much makes it so you can find max potions and dash juice lying on the ground! If that isn't already extremely good, then there's also the fact that you can carry 10 to 20 mushrooms, depending on the type. You can carry 20 nitroshrooms and 10 of every other shroom, which already outperforms most of their counterparts. Why carry 2 max potions when you can carry ten ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ max potions?
Along with that, each mushroom uses the "pill" eating animation, which is shared with rations; might and adamant pills; nullberries; herbal medicine, and more. This means that at any point, you can just pull out a devil's blight, and gain the effects of a dash juice in a miniscule amount of time. It's almost ridiculous.

Then there's wide range. You can already guess where that goes, permanently buffing your team with attack and defense until they cart, or* giving all of your teammates a dash juice out of nowhere.

The only gripe I have is that it can be hard to fit into a build, and each mushroom still takes up a pouch slot. There is also no nullberry effect, you'll have to do that normally. For a support build however.... TRY TO FIT IT IN

tl;dr, Mushroomancer is a great skill for a variety of players, especially wide range supports, but its main drawback is that it can be hard to fit into a set.

EDIT : fixed some info, * is an edit

Shroomancer OP. Such a killer support, constantly getting high off of the entire fight. Please nerf, add abstinence.

the problem is that you can just recraft max potions mid fight without issues anyway. so you can carry over 10 without this skill already.

its a neat skill for sure but your info really isnt news at all for anyone experienced (been known for nearly 2 years now and a quick google would have shown your info on the wiki) but aside from the dash juice effect (which only certain weaponclasses really need to begin with) the advantage just isnt as big as it seems sadly.

It's good and very economic, but if you know what all the normal items do, it's not useful. Just bring normal items and stuff to craft more. Also if you play support, sushifish scales are a MUST. Especially the great ones, they heal an insane amount, especially with free meal 3. Also wide range doesn't work with max potions or mandragoras, so MM is even less useful and only level 1 is useful for the blue mushroom. Better off bringing the normal items instead.

Also there is an antidote mushroom. The toadstool antidotes, iirc. Also you can already carry 7 max potions with you. Just bring 5 mega nutrients and 5 mandragoras. Bring 10 mega potions and dusts of life (and stuff to craft 4 more.) With all that healing, you don't need MM at all.

I'm an experienced, long-time support player and I've worked with MM plenty but in Iceborne I've seen it as a waste of slots/armor. Especially since you need that deco space for dps/survivability decos. Even on a support build, if you're not dealing damage you're playing the wrong way. Especially thanks to the monster scaling in IB.
I don't know why you're capitalize Demondrug and Armorskin effect like it's great thing lol
Those thing are always permanent anyway, at least untill you die. So lv2 mushroomancer is kinda meh at best.

Pure support builds can keep a team of dps alive, You dont need to have any damage on your build, so long as you smack the mon between life dustings. Mushroomancer is good for your own healing, especially if your support, because your should be popping your potions for others not yourself. Its really not hard to fit a mushroomancer setup into your build. Mushroomancer, speed eating, recovery up and wide range. Put on the lunastra armor or something high rank with tons of slots for those cheap gems, use a sword and shield, have guard up, vitality gems. Wide range deco. Eat defensively. So long as your playing very cautiously and being liberal with your heals you'll be just fine.

OR just choose a support Hunting Horn with defence up and healing.
iirc wide-range doesn't work with mandragoras, and you're better off just drinking mega demondrugs and armorskin instead of using the trashier version. i haven't bothered to test it myself, granted, but i've just noticed that support builds do mushroomancer 1 at most just because any higher is a waste.

I suppose it is preference. A more defensive playstyle is definitely viable and not carting is always better than carting, especially as a support. I don't run mushroomancer often, as I've never felt I've needed it or ran out of healing. Especially with free meal 3 and taking some (or all) of the first aid supply meds and the sushifish scales. That's so much healing it's not even funny.

Some people do get frustrated with supports that don't dps, but as long as you're keeping the team alive nothing else matters. Me putting more emphasis on dps (and buffing with might pills/powders) is just my own preference. And I'll admit it is way more comfy to run a defensive support build rather than a damage-based one, lol.

my friend used my set up for extremoth and lemme tell you, he saved my booty so often when behemoth said enough and bled me out just by drinking a pot by his tail, or by dropping health boosters and the like. Its definitely a preference thing, and honestly it probably takes a more cohesive hunting squad to make it work. But, in my experience, the hunting horn or support sns that does nothing but keep the party alive is the true unsung hero.

I'm fine with people supporting while also dpsing at the same time, but seeing a HH user sitting in a corner playing song and chugging potion without even hitting monster once the entire hunt is a disgrace tbh...

Unless it's Behemoth of course.

As dual blades I honestly find demondrug does virtually nothing, I don't notice any diff with or without it in terms of damage, even with a rarity 12 dual blade, it only gives maybe 10 attack at most? Thats not even 1 more damage on attacks with how the motion values work. As for defence, I personally feel defense does jack past a certan point as monsters seem to be set to have a min damage they hit you for no matter how much defense you have. I mean in high rank you have around what 300 def? I fight a high rank monster in my MR gear that has 800+ defense, imo those monsters shouldn't even be able to touch me period with that much defense, but they still do.
