From MR 1 to MR 100 journey , seriously i think only tempered black diablos is most annoying , not even other elder can compare, MR Tempered Black Diablos keep dug hole like a ♥♥♥♥♥. The other 4 monster are annoying fast but still cant compare to tempered black diablos.

I didn't fail a single story and optional quest as long as I played with my friend or solo (except 2-3 with sos, but I joined them), however the only monster that made me faint twice was Shara. I didn't understand its combos at first. Tempered Black Diablos in MR was a bit funny with its speed, but I did not find it hard. So I'd say my only hard monster is Shara (only if you don't know how the battle works though).

For Iceborne only? If it's for the entire game no doubt I'd put Behemoth or Lunastra at the top. For my playtime:

1. Namielle (regardless of version, ♥♥♥♥ this tumorous carcinoma)
2. Scarred Yian Garuga (not sure if it was tempered)
3. Teostra (on Recess Expedition & later through investigation)
4. Black Veil Vaal'Hazak (went in unprepared during story, didn't know his stand-on-two-legs-blast-smoke-on-the-floor attack extended even behind his own tail -> killed me)
5. Kirin (perma enraged thanks to mates)

For me it's more about some monsters being more difficulty to deal with and annoying to fight, rather than difficult fights:

1. Kushala. ♥♥♥♥ constant flying and annoying wind pressure.
2. Silver Rathalos. ♥♥♥♥ constant flying.
3. Lunastra. ♥♥♥♥ supernova.
4. Tesotra. Easy stuns that combo into carts, better wear stun resistance or git gud. Also, ♥♥♥♥ you for not giving me a single hardhorn 5 times in a row after breaking the head and carving.
5. I can't come up with a good one anymore, so ♥♥♥♥ Black Diablos for good measure.

Anything smaller then an anjanath while savage jho is around. Just so fun chasing the pickle that stole your prey

For me as a Lance player:
1. Temp Lunastra
2. Temp Kushala
3. Temp Velkana... cause i nearly never can hit her
4. Shara ishvalda -> Lazor of doom -.-
5. Brachydios and Barioth. Barioth cause its so hard to get a window for some hits...

Not Counting Behemoth, Extremoth, and Ancient Leshen since they are not original, and not including Rajang and any monster added later or from another series, so stricly Monster Hunter World. Also as GS user.
1. Lunastra = Her weakness is her wings, but it's pointless to keep it tenderized because my greatsword "rarely" reach there. Thanks to Shara Ishvalda set, her ultimate looks like child play. (you can still get knocked by her flame though)
2. Savage Deviljho = This red pickle has helped me finish my hunt in my early MR days. Capcom even added the second "Chomp Slam" or whatever you called when he is enrage. Now just another annoyance for my deco farm.
3. Brachydios = His slime hit harder than even Teostra blast or maybe just me. His slime puddle as cancerous as Bazelgeuse. It's bearable though.
4. Barioth & Nargacuga = Twin boys that keep leaping to dodge my TCS.

Special Mention: Paolumu "Rapid Body Slam", that's the first move that cart me in Iceborne 2 times in a quest. When I'm still fullbody Drachen, this move hit very hard. Now just another futile resistance before his demise.

In terms of Soloing only for me...

1. Gold Rathian. I for the life of me can't get her to stop flying, Silver Rath seems so much easier compared to her.
2. Tempered Black Diablos. Just constant digging, nothing else really...
3. Tigrex. He likes to screw up my hunts with other monsters.
4. Scarred Yian Garuga. His armor in the beginning before you break it is pretty annoying.
5. Brute Tigrex. Kinda the same with normal Tigrex, but the roaring in place makes him slightly easier.

Not in any particular order. Maybe black diablos for boring waiting for the 3 digs wasting your time fights but thats not so much hard as it is annoying.

Ehhh, Gold Rathian isnt thhat hard for a mobile class, nor shouldnt blos bee.
You just hoave to find the openings.

1. cancernastra. has that name for a reason.
2. barioth. this thing is just too agile and mobile for its size. totally overtuned compared to others in the same class kirin is fast and agile aswell but atleast all its attacks are slow as ♥♥♥♥. not the case for this guy.
3. kushala/legiana/azure cancerlos. these 3 show why the flash nerf on flyers was a mistake. flash shouldnt make em flinch like before but atleast keep em grounded. kush wastes your time flying literally. azure literally never stays on the floor now. painful for melee.
4. brachydios. jesus. way too agile for his destructive power but not as overtuned as barioth atleast.
5. diablos duo. WAY too much digging in mr. way too much. same as kush. literally wastes your time for no good reason.
