Weakness exploit
Sorry, im newbie at this. Just want to ask somethin

So i have the level 3 weakness exploit skill (all of it came from armor)

But my deviljho switch axe show affinity -25%

And i thought if i have level 3 weakness exploit, -25% will be 0 or maybe +10% maybe?

Did the skill didn' work? Or i just don't get it?

Please anyone help me. Thank you

it wont show on equipment tab because its a conditional modifier, when you are hitting the weak part of a monster. it will however net the full +50% effect regardless of your -25% weapon.

you will have +25% chance to crit if with the deviljho switch axe assuming you are hitting a weak spot. (you will never hit a lower damage swing and a quarter of the time you will deal extra damage)

skills like expert and mighty in addition to weapon affinity augments do however show up on the equipment tab for your overall affinity.

Weakness exploit only activates when attacking a weak point. So it won't show on your weapon.

Specifically, by weakpoint they mean any hitzone of 45 or greater, this typically means 3 star hitzones and occasionally some 2 star ones I believe. It's honestly best to just look at the real hitzone value instead of the stars though.

Wouldn't hit the parts shaded red in your Hunter Notes be simpler to say?

critical eye
maximum might and peak performance will also show increased affinity, provided you have full stamina and full health

Maybe, I honestly pay very little attention to the hunter's notes because they aren't anything close to exact.
Edit: After a quick check, no I don't mean that red parts. The red parts are not always 45+ and non red zones are not always lower than 45.

You can get specific hitzone information from Kiranico.com and pulling up each monster. The hitzone is very roughly what percentage of your attack damage is inflicted to a certain body part. a hitzone of 45 takes 45% damage 50 takes 50% etc. There is much more involved in the damage formula and if you want to know more about it in general a quick google search will get you plenty of good sources.

Also high enough levels of the Attack skill also adds affinity.

Just hit head and you're set. it's a certain weak hitzone (45+)

Math noob here, I don't get it! :runecrying:

If my dmg is 100. The weapon is -30% affinity. Thus there is 30% chance to do -25% damage, which is 75.

When I have armor affinity at 50%, does it count as :

A) 75 dmg + 50% chance to get +25% dmg, which is 93.75 dmg - or -

B) (-30% affinity + 50% affinity), which is 20% chance to get +25% dmg, which is 125 dmg?

Well, peak performance doesn't increase affinity.

Pretty much any conditional boost will show up in your equipment tab when the conditions are met, such as agitator (enraged), heroics (below 35% hp), critical draw (a few seconds after a slide)

Critical eye and attack boost 4+ are the only crit skills that will show up when sitting in Asteria.

Weakness exploit will never show up in your equipment bar, so you just gotta mentally keep track of that, assuming you're going after those weakpoints as your main source of damage

Affinity is addative before damage is calculated. Positive will cancel out negavtive once conditions are met.

Maximum Might as well (shows up in the equipment UI). It will vanish when you lose stamina, but its condition is merely full stamina (so it will always be visible for example in Astera).

Crit Eye and Attack's +5% are permanent flat +% stats with no conditions other than to have the skill, which is why they show up. Max Might is, as stated, merely full stamina so it requires no action - as long as your stamina is full you will see the % in the UI.

All of the others require a specific action to activate, such as activation on hit connecting to a weak point (Weakness Exploit), which as others have said, is why it and other similar skills don't show up in your equipment UI. Although I do wonder if it does for a split second on meeting the condition (such as contact with the weakspot) lol.

So in OP's circumstance with Weak Exploit 3, Pickle's weapon with -25% affinity will become +25% whenever he hits any monster's weakspot, since WE3 adds 50% affinity to those attacks - but you won't see that in the equipment UI.
