Legia Shattercyst HBG (pros and cons)

I'm into this HBG piercing. I tihnk this weapon is the best at it. Any comments and how more that would help me?

for right now, it IS the best pierce heavy bowgun, when kulve comes out next week it will not be, the kadachi lion could be a contender with wyvern snipe but the horrendous recoil on it makes shattercryst way better in most people's opinions

piercing HBG only works best on like....3 different monsters though (diablos, bazelgeuse and uragaan/radobaan)

kulve has over 300 new weapons, and some of them are the best heavy bowguns in their categories with the glutton for spread and the support for pierce

when she gets realesed she is bringing so many top tier weapons with her, it's definitely something to look forward to!

Taroth Assault "Glutton" is incredibly strong and the best Spread 3 HBG for example

all levels of Normal along with Pierce, Spread, Sticky, Cluster, Paralysis, Wyvern and even 4 Slicing while maintaining respectable levels of recoil/reload for most ammo types and possessing Wyvernsnipe instead of Wyvernheart

i just finished an awesome karma (LBG) build with regards to crits, weakness, and damage. i hope this kulve doesn't make my build into crap... does it?

Yes and no, KT powercrept Karma out very hard, but you can keep the build relatively the same, just swapping out the bowgun for the most part.

Pierce used to be the best in older games. Normal was pretty good too...

Normal 2 is literally the best ammo type on LBGs, but pierce got nerfed so badly that it's only worth running on 3 monsters.

If you have the very rare jewels (Mind's Eye/Ballistics and Piercing Shots) Shattercryst Pierce 3 is a damage monster.

Shattercryst Pierce 3 may not have the fastest solo kill times, BUT in multiplayer the Shattercryst Pierce 3 will outdamage EVERYONE (including bow users) almost every time (with the right build of course).

You should invest on Guard 5. Not being able to recover quickly after blocking massive damage causing knockbacks is a huge DPS loss. You can dodge, but you can't dodge all attacks.

Also Weakness Exploit is not effective on pierce ammo since most of the ticks will hit on non-weakpoints. Rather get some static affinity like Critical Eye.
