Weapon upgrade tree

Do I just gather materials until I "unlock" the next upgrade? Was wondering how to get the next upgrade indentified

if you discover a piece of material , it will unlock it. at some point of the game, all undiscovered piece will be unlock .

You can make, or forge more copies of the base weapons (And some later ones). Each weapon in your inventory is upgraded at the cost of the materials listed. You can rollback most upgrades, getting most of the materials back.

Materials you haven't seen are hidden (Listed as ???). Once you've seen all the materials, the name and full stats of the upgrade are shown.

All upgrades will be revealed eventually as you progress through the game. If it's not revealed then you probably don't have access to all the mats you need at that point.

While weapons upgrade note will unlock when you gather at least 1 of each requirements material or progress story more will automatically reveal all requirements materials

Oh ok thanks, was about to repeatedly murder the Rathian thinking the amount was the way to unlock it
