Is Monter Hunter like Dark Souls?
Hey,
I never played a Monster Hunter Game, but I want to try it. But I'm not sure if I would like it, because I heard, that the Game is like a mix with Dark Souls and Diablo. But I don't like Games like Dark Souls.
So, my Question is: Is Monter Hunter like Dark Souls?

MHW is easier and more friendly noob combat, you are not going to die on same monster in MHW 100 times LOL unless you pretty much don't know how to play game in the first place, you still die but after few times you would already learned whats move/attack killing you and you will naturally learn how to counter that.

Uuuh... no, it's not. They have very little in common.

There are some similarities to Dark Souls, in that MHW and Dark Souls are both action RPGs and use animation priority (where most animations lock you in to some/all of the animation before responding to new player input). Beyond that, though, the differences outweight the similarities. It's not something you'd traditionally call "souls-like".

In terms of being like Diablo, I guess they just mean the loot system, which... sorta, maybe, in a very limited way. The only Diablo-esque thing here is there are decorations that you can equip to open slots on your gear, but otherwise there's no randomness at all to gear, and gear doesn't drop (with the exception of one special boss), you just craft all gear.

Such a pointless comment. Instead of getting prissy about what is like dark souls and what isn't A much helpful comment would be something like this: If you really enjoyed the boss fight aspect of dark souls then MHW has a good chance of being something you will enjoy too since it essentially foces on boss fights.

I don't mean it serious. If you would read the comments above, and so know the context, you would realise, that I didn't mean it serious. We were just joking about "It is like Dark Souls, because....". And btw, I'm the person, who start the discussion.

Well I look like an idiot now...

Still what I said is not wrong for situations where people do get offended by people comparing aspects of a certain game to Dark Souls.

Think of it like Serikei or whatever the new souls game name is.
Serikei with only able to grapple when there's Wedgey Beetle.

No problem. And in essentially, you are right. But you should read more comments, to understand the context

MHW is more forgiving and offers more strategic options in tackling the monsters. Weapons also feel impactful and unique from one to another, like how charge blade will require you to be more tactical in your approach.

Use the optimal phial charging combo for your build (depends on wheter you have focus or not)
Charge your shield. Keep building up phials and spam SAED at every opportune moment and charge your shield when the charge is going down.

Use sword to axe transformation guard point to guard against telegraphed attacks, and SAED if that puts you into a good spot to do so.

TL;DR: Build your way to SAED then SAEDSAEDSAEDSAED.

It's not really that tactical weapon. Imo it essentially plays like Greatsword if you could store your true charged slash and release it on demand.

I actually looked at how much some styles can change gameplay in MHGU and started drooling.
